Never said it wasn't a shape, just saying it is not as good as others.

makes sense. It's a reason cited for demolishing DHall... turns out round is an inefficient shape.

Couple pics here - one from a couple days ago, two from last night (1 on Bluestone Drive overlooking the stadium, the other from the back of Wilson Hall).

Structure demolition began a week ago today. Another week or two at this pace and it's a hole in the ground.

This may have been answered before, but does the new D-Hall retain the "Gibbons Hall" name, or does that go down with the building?

If the naming rights are up for grabs, perhaps we can get this building named after Miss Kathy.

Miss Kathy is a true fan of the Dukes. So awesome.

Good question. Aside from BFS (which isn't really a building per-say) has there been a case on campus where a building was completely demolished (not just gutted and redone) and a new building was built to replace it with the same function? If so, was the old name retained or was a new one used? Do not know myself.

Anyone know?

As far as I have heard the name Gibbons & DHall will stick.

Happened to make it to lunch at DHub today. It's pretty nice.

Anthony Seeger comes to mind but didn't serve nearly the same purpose as the Forbes Center. I honestly don't even know who Anthony Seeger was or if I'm even spelling the last name correctly. Either way, as far as I know the name was not placed on another building.

That's because Anthony Seeger Hall is named after two people - Katherine Anthony and Mary Seeger. But there is an Anthony Seeger at UCLA in the music department.

Wasn't Anthony-Seeger an elementary school before becoming part of JMU?
