Bowl Eligibility
Will we, as a conference, supply enough teams to fulfill our projected spots??
We have 7-8 Bowl slots this year and as it currently stands, we are in jeopardy of not providing enough teams.

4-1 teams who should be virtual locks to reach 6 wins:
WKU, Marshall

3-2 teams who have a better than average chance to make it to 6 wins:
La Tech, S. Miss

Now this is where it gets scary. We have 6 teams with 2-3 records (FAU is 1-3, so I'll put them in this group for the moment, so 7 possibilities)). Of these 7, we need 4 to get to 6 wins. Who will it be?
MTSU, FIU, ODU, Charlotte, Rice, UTEP, FAU

These 2 teams, IMHO, are out of it with 1-4/0-4 records:
NT, UTSA

Who gets it done??

Looking at that it's hard to say. I think MT and maybe Rice. most of the bottom teams must still play la tech , Marshall and WKU Then each other

Good Catch. That would be awesome but 9-3 for WKU.

RE: Bowl Eligibility
Honest look at our remaining games...

CURRENT RECORD: 2-3
@ Western Kentucky - 25% chance of win --- 2-4
VS Florida Intl - 67% chance of win --- 3-4
@ Louisiana Tech - 33% chance of win --- 3-5
VS Marshall - 40% chance of win --- 3-6
@ Florida Atl - 60% chance of win --- 4-6
VS North Texas - 75% chance of win --- 5-6
@ UT San Antonio - 60% chance of win --- 6-6

But I think we'll have a better reflection after WKU.

I wouldn't count out UTSA just yet. We have NT, ODU, and Charlotte which are lock Ws.

If we can split Tech, Rice, MT, and USM. Boom we get to 6-6.

I think we will have 5 eligible, maybe 6. Cusa bottom half is pretty dreadful. I think utsa will upset a top team that sleep walks on them though.

Homer much? WKU is MUCH more likely to win in double digits than MU. Even with your soft schedule!

If you have any kind of passing game you can beat Rice this year. We basically have no defense beyond our front line. I don't really see a scenario where Rice doesn't make a bowl currently, but that is because there are way too many meaningless bowls these days.

Rice has traditionally owned us. It would be nice to get that monkey off our back.

If we beat USM we will be 8-1 going into MTSU, FIU and WKU. I like our 10 win chances as well.

This is probably going to another year were UTSA watchs teams who finish below UTSA in CUSA go to bowl games, and UTSA sits at home because of the OOC schedule this year.

No. Marshall will not be 11-1 at the end of the season. I don't know what Kool Aid you've been drinking, but I want some of it. I predict 7-5 at least, 8-4 at the most. They're playing IN Bowling Green, KY and Murfreesboro, TN. Marshall's offensive line has a lot of work to do. There's also a toss-up in next week's contest with Southern Miss.

RE: Bowl Eligibility
Bowl eligibility is a useless term to me. 6-6 means nothing. MT fans, more than any, should be tired of that phrase if there is no destination at the end of the season. I'm looking for 7-5. Five more wins needed. Seven games left in regular season. Can Stockstill and the Raiders deliver? We'll see.

I would say 60% beating Marshall at home. That would line up with the Sagarin predictor also. So 7-5 is very possible. No offense to Marshall but I think they are going to lose some CUSA games this year.

Yes. There is a VERY good chance that we lose multiple games in conference this year.

8/11 starters on offense are either FR or SO.
