Yeah I'm sure memphis students will be beating down the doors to see a cbu basketball game or a rhodes football game

RE: Football Games/CBU Students
Why are so many people working so hard to give away equity in our athletic department? We will likely have the highest attendance numbers in the history of Tiger football and we are brainstorming ways to get students who chose other colleges and universities in for free? If they don't buy a $5 Kroger ticket you think opening the gates for free is going to buy loyalty? And don't tell me college kids don't have $5. They drop that at Starbooks and phone apps daily.

You sell tickets by building a brand and putting exciting winning teams on the field. Now is the time to build value not give it away.

If you want to form some type of alliance for a discount ticket for the seats not ever used in buy games. I'm down with that. We don't give away seats in our classes and we shouldn't give away seats at our football games.

This is probably for Old Man Grizz but I once heard an expression
" If you can't sell it then keep sitting on it."

Okay. But let's make $5 tickets even easier to get. Let's take them to the campuses where they will be more accessible to the students.

Details. Details. This could be worked.

How about letting giving the area universities a number of student guest tickets to sale to their students

RE: Football Games/CBU Students
What about the Ole Miss - Southaven campus? What about Bellhaven (Poplar & Kirby), Devry University? Moore Tech? Visible Music College? Southwest? Northwest Mississippi Junior College?

How would the University of Memphis distribute those tickets?

This all sounds good, but in reality, how many non-UofM students does everyone realistically expect to attract to a Tiger football game that aren't already coming? This sounds like a "feel-good" idea that is not practical, and won't really yield any substantial results.

If those kids want discounted tickets to the Tiger games, let them buy the Kroger $5 tickets. I can see how the UofM could market the Kroger tickets at different Universities. However, we've already got the Kroger distribution model set up. Us that, don't try to reinvent another process that probably won't sell that many tickets anyway.

Yup. So let's not even try. This is SOOOO traditional "Memphis Think".
You have a working crystal ball, and already know the outcome.
Bravo.
Doesn't a crowd of 48k look better than a crowd of 47k?
Or 46k better than 45k?

Honestly no when you get into the mid and upper 40's none can tell the difference in 1000 I don't care what people say. It would be nice to have the extra money associated with it if they sold the tickets at a 10 dollar minimum though.

Apparently not. Nobody agrees with the count anyway. But this is not about how it looks. It's building and being true to a brand. We have a chance to do that now more than any time in the past. Get past a coupon mentality.

Get young Memphis people to the games. Let them experience this new rise in local pride and excitement. At least 80% will buy in.

Speaking from experience, CBU grads make excellent Tiger fans! Got some in da family of inlaws.

Besides, you can always discontinue the promotion. Coupons aren't written in stone.

I heard we're starting a new "free football tickets for students of any Div-II school who whoops us in an exhibition bball game the prior season" campaign.

RE: Football Games/CBU Students
Again... Advertise at CBU, Rhodes & Southwest that students can buy discounted tickets at Kroger. Sending blocks of tickets to those colleges doesn't make any sense.
