Houston and Temple have defenses and pretty good offenses. Memphis has an excellent offense and an average D.

RE: Rockets in the Polls
Seems like the Pollsters have kinda been waiting on advancing the rockets the last couple weeks. I think Tuesdays game is big. With a dominating performance and I think we make a jump. Close win will only get a place or two at best.

Rockets in the Polls
I suspect all 3 AAC teams will be ahead of Toledo (even temple) in the first college football playoff rankings.

If any of the AAC teams finishes undefeated, that team will and should get a bowl bid ahead of Toledo. My worry is that a one-loss AAC team could get the nod over us, especially if that team is Temple, with a loss only to highly-ranked Notre Dame. Any way you slice it, though, if we finish undefeated and win a bowl game, the season will go down in UT history.

Still a lot to accomplish, though. The time to worry about convincing wins is over. In our next four games, there really is no such thing as winning ugly.

Lose any one of them and they will not be in the top 25 at the end of the season and have no shot at the top spot of the mid majors for that playoff bowl spot.

The recognition is good, but lose a game and we will be classified as "over-rated". It also gives the other MAC schools a huge incentive to knock off a ranked team they believe they can compete against.

If the players take that ranking to heart and come out fighting like a champ does, then they will take care of business. I just remember too many games against NIU where we came out and played like chumps and tried to catch up the entire game. This is when we see if the staff is able to game plan and motivate against some of the best coaches in the league.

Take a chill pill and ENJOY this! I hate how everyone keeps saying "None of this matters" ... "we gotta keep winning" ... "if we lose, we'll fall out". No sh*t! That's why we gotta ENJOY this! Whenever any of us FANS start to look ahead, someone comes out of the woodwork saying "one game at a time" or "all we can worry about is winning, we can't control anything else". We're FANS. We need to be ENJOYING this.

Epic Applause

Ugh! ONE spot out of the top 25! UT comes in at 26th in the AP, with 39 votes. 25th (Ole Miss) has 44.

UT came in at 29th in the Coaches Poll

RE: Rockets in the Polls
Arkansas is just behind us too. It's a shame that LSU is still in. They have 2 decent wins over TAMU and Miss St right? Those wins should not grant them 19, with nothing else to really back it. They just lost a home by a lot to Arkansas. Does a sane person really think LSU is better than Arkansas right now???

That's sort of the difference between a power ranking (CFB playoff/ How the teams are playing now)..... and the AP or Coaches that have to reward teams for early wins and entire resume. We are not playing at all like a top25 team, and are lucky to still be getting votes. But hey... that's football! Arkansas is possibly the best win in program history!

Win this week and we're in!
