I just find it funny that a fan base that has been whining about the UCF hit for two years now all iof the sudden rules with the refs. Can't have it both ways fellas. Can't wine about the call that didnt go your way and then play the "ref didn't call it" on the other. It was a dirty play, just own it. Unless of course you're a Memphis state fan and only paid attention to football since last year. Go figure.

Memphis fans don't live in reality. They make up they're own rules and base their opinions off the rules they make up.

It was a legal hit, but an unecessary hit.

Nope. He was a freshman. Dismissed. Do your homework.

I'm pretty sure that was a joke.

So it's clean if UCF does it (which ALL OF YOUR FANS SAID IT WAS) and we're supposed to own up to the fact that even though our defender began the move before Keil began to slide, it was dirty?

I'm a Memphis State fan who remembers us beating teams like Bama and USC before UCF was even FBS. I remember that we had some rough times in the 80s, 90s and the past decade but before that had only 6 losing seasons in over 30 years.

Lanier was trying to hit low. Kiel was gambling for extra yards before the slide. He slid late, and Lanier was already in motion to hit low, BEFORE Kiel initiated the slide. I've watched the replay a bunch of times. Targeting a guy trying to hurt him is awful and I guarantee Fuente would never abide that at our program-- he's not that kind of coach. I know you think I'm a homer, but I'm being serious.

IMO, if there's any outrange here, it should be directed at Tuberville, who should NEVER have lied about Kiel's previous concussion to let him play. He put the kid's future health or even life in danger.

The swinging of a helmet to injure and/or maim at the end of the bowl game last year says you're dead wrong.

You mean the player that is no longer wearing a Memphis jersey, or did you mean that Fuente was out there swinging a helmet?

I mean that Fuente condones that type of behavior.

Doesn't matter. My point is Justin Fuente condones that type of behavior.

Memphis state won. No ones arguing that. The discussion is if the play was dirty or not. Obviously you can't follow. Enjoy the win.

based on what? please. Go somewhere with that nonsense.

Based on the Miami Beach Bowl last year and the Cincinnati game tonight. Sorry if the facts hurt your obvious sensitivity.

It was a legal hit, but I think it was an unnecessary hit. If he had been penalized for the hit I wouldn't have been upset.

They got a first down on the very next play anyway so it would not have changed the outcome at all.

RE: Is Memphis the dirtiest team in the AAC?
I don't know if we're the dirtiest. What I do know is Kiel should not have been in that game. I'm, keeping him in my prayers and I hope that he is able to continue his football career. I lost a lot of respect for Tubby for putting him int hat game. Knocked out last week, claims being fuzzy and then says it's a shoulder injury, and that he cleared concussion protocols. Kiel went low, as we were coming in LOW like we're supposed to to make the tackle. It was reviewed. The announcers said the same thing. The refs saw it was intentional, Kiel wasn;t defenseless, and it was with the shoulder pad.

Happened to us 2 years ago when we were playing UCF. He apparently, wasn't a defenseless player, there was no contact with the head whatsoever even though there CLEARLY was it cost us the game, and so on...

It's ok when it's not happening to you though right?

Me either, but it was reviewed and determined it was clean and nothing intentional about it. The announcers explained it and agreed as well.

He should have just let Kiel slide, but when he started his forward motion for the hit, Kiel was still up with about 3 yards of free yards in front of him.

Nope Memphis isn't winning the conference and neither is UC. Memphis is going to get waxed by Ole Miss. UC is going to get beat by BYU and Miami. So in the long run this game means nothing.

But what I can't stand is a player taking a cheap shot, knocking someone out cold, standing up and dancing around after he sees the player out cold. And then what's even worse is you have a bunch of old grown men defending and crlebrating him like he's some kind of hero. It's disgraceful.
