To me it looked like he thought he made a good play and was amped up, but you know darn well he wasnt celebrating an injury. Noone wants to see anyone hurt.

Exactly. I thought he hopped around jacked up b/c he felt he made a good play. I don't think he was celebrating hurting Kiel. If he was, then I agree with Husky. But he stopped pretty quick.

And no reasonable fan on earth is going to celebrate or cheer for an opponent getting hurt. I didn't see anybody last night doing that. I sure as hell wasn't.

Exactly, and the stadium was silent.

If that's what he actually did, then of course not. I just think it's reasonable to think he was doing what defensive players almost always do when they make a good play.

How dare Chauncey Lanier not hav the psychic capabilities to be aware that his legal hit was going to lead to a scary injury? He had at least .00008 nanoseconds between making a big play and springing into the air in celebration, he should've seen that silent stadium (save for all the Memphis fans hissing and throwing bags of urine at Kiel's lifeless corpse) coming.

So did Memphis - the refs just missed the call.

Yep....Cincy was clearly better...the refs just cheated...blah blah blah. HIS KNEE WAS DOWN.

I take it you missed the blown fumble call in the first half?

I thought I was watching a CUSA Officiating Crew last night.

But I guess as BYU knows that's the norm for Memphis these days, huh?

Yea I'll never defend a player for making a great football hit again. Thanks.

Celebrating cheap shots. The Memphis way.

By your posts I'd say you were the cheap shot artist .............

What's considered a sell out with the endzone covered up? Crowd looked decent on tv, but I hate seeing those tarps over seats.

Liberty Bowl holds 60,000+ which no team that hasn't won multiple national championships is gonna come close to selling out

You must be kidding, right!?

My hokies have a 66,000 capacity stadium and we break 60k attendance pretty much every single game--even against FCS teams.

Hell, up until recently we had a 90+ game sellout streak and we haven't won multiple national championships. Just cause you can't fill a 60k capacity stadium doesn't mean nobody else can.

You want a cookie?

I'm not the one who said no team that hasn't won multiple national championships would be able to sell out a 60k capacity stadium.

That was just a stupid statement.

Had they called it down on the field there was enough evidence to call it a fumble on review. You can see both knees off the ground and the ball coming out. The fact that it was called a fumble and then reversed is an absolute travesty. No idea how a replay official could be so bad at his or her job.

His right knee touched well before this shot of the left knee. Go back and check the ball placement when play resumed. The replay we saw on tv never went back to the original right knee being down, it focused on the left.

That's what I think happened, too. On the jumbotron, you could clearly see his right knee go down, and the ball position wasn't in question. That's why I told my buddies it would be overturned.

What happened is the runner then tried to get back up, or was pulled forward, and the UC defender jerked him back toward the turf, and the ball came out. The pic shows the left knee about to hit the ground first. The right knee had hit, a couple of seconds before that.

When I saw the ESPN replay later, I thought it looked like a fumble, too, and was puzzled. I finally realized that ESPN only showed the shorter sequence on TV. I'm sure the replay officials saw the longer version, b/c you sure as heck couldn't overturn it from what ESPN showed.
