I think salted styrofoam is a separate category anyhow.

That’s funny. I went to a D1 baseball game today where they served the following; a tent from Local sports bar with a menu, a food truck with a deli menu, bars serving beer and wine, in addition to the connected walk up menu. I noticed that waitresses were circulating throughout crowd taking drink Orders. Long Beach State vs UC, Irvine.
We’ve got a long way to go just join the 21st century.

Only about 30K students to go to catch up to those schools. It shouldn't be too hard to completely take over the entire City of Williamsburg.

Good point. Still, the bones are there at Plumeri. If only the connection with the locals were stronger? It takes some imagination, outreach, media cooperation, help from Mother Nature, scheduling, etc. The foundation is there.

True, but my comment earlier wasn't just about W&M, but also Williamsburg. Relative to the area and school size, we have a pretty strong baseball crowd. Like other sports, the crowds are bigger when we're winning. Last year and the year before that we had great numbers. This year looks to be a little less so.

It's also been pretty subpar weather so far. Last March/April was a lot warmer, which I'm sure helps drive attendance. I don't really want to sit and watch a baseball game when it's 40 and overcast.

I agree on both points. It’s complicated. Here are two ideas for a start. Invite a speciality food truck to park down the right field line. Barbecue, Mexican? A craft beer truck catering to the fans? Advertise and review thru the WY Daily blog. This would be on a day game. Is there a way to schedule more doubleheader’s? Let’s get some more ideas. Maybe asking the existing fan base. Discounting tickets to friends of existing fans?

Several of us have suggested we follow other major schools...as well as every major league baseball team...
by instituting a Dog's Day at Plumeri. We might see a surprisingly large turnout of folks turn out with their pets.

Practice facility will be a huge plus for them.

I assume it's driven by need for space for other events, but it must be somewhat disappointing to have a new arena that looks great by all measures except be way too cavernously big for basketball for them. They're not doing any more than filling half that at absolute best anytime soon.

Someone on JMU board brought up using NC States old arena (now hosts WBBall) for CAA tourney. Not what Im posting about, but thought their renovation could be a less expensive fix to our open bowl problem at Kaplan. Glass wall filling in the space, to be utilized as a pseudo-museum space behind. Pull-out bleachers at ground level saves space for gymnastics. That glass wall probably makes the place pretty loud.

Crazy. Looks great. The first game I ever went to was in Reynolds (and I probably saw about 50 games there over the years). It didn't resemble anything remotely like that. It was hot, uncomfortable, and loud.

Did they place the sideline William & Mary wordmark upside down? TV angle will have it the wrong way.

All the writing on all four "lines" is facing center court. I presume that was the intent.

And if you notice on the sidelines beside the writing, that squiggle is the Griffin's tail and part of his talon.

Seeing the new floor in person is a stunning sight. The new graphics and floor just jumps out at you.

Really looks super.
