Taking a video of players taking cell phone pictures of the stadium, makes me feel like we are already beat and on vacation. Kind of gives a feel that NIU is already intimidated. Not a big deal, just seems a little unnecessary. Just kind of makes you wonder whats next, a stoppage in play to get Braxton Miller's autograph?

Coach Carey called it one of the top five venues in college football, I hope the players enjoy the experience. Why not take a pic, and send it to friends and family?

It'll make a great beginning of a video if they pull off the upset. They'll always remember when they played in the shoe. It's fun for them. Hopefully they get rod of the awed, nervous feeling after the first hit.

you realize that players take pictures and videos of literally every venue they go to? The team usually films them and takes pictures of that as well. Ever seen teams do #FridayFocus on social media? Ever seen players post pictures of any venue they go to? I can go ahead and find pictures of guys I am friends with that took pictures at West Point, Soldier Field, Iowa, UMass at Foxboro. These were all players and they snap chatted and posted them to social media almost every week.

Why are you always pessimistic. Are you an insurance adjuster?

I just think it gives a sense you are in awe of the environment, bad optics imo, not a big deal obviously and certainly not something to argue about.

Oh certainly, but you don't need to film yourself filming it lol.

I hope it's like the movie Hoosiers, where the players are in awe walking in, to the size of the stadium, but the coach then points out that it's still the same dimensions of playing arena, not to be intimidated, etc.

It is something that I take issue with you saying its a deal. You're basically calling the team, which to my knowledge, you know nobody on as not taking it serious. You're also basically saying that guys I consider good friends were in awe of environments like Iowa, West Point, Soldier Field, Purdue etc. I just wish you actually had any sort of logic at any times.

I try and give you the benefit of the doubt because you clearly like NIU based on your constant posting. However, your pessimism and lack of logic becomes a bit annoying. You need to have a way better approach to things, specifically NIU football.

last time we played at the Horseshoe all of the players had their cameras out. i still look at the pictures from that day, it was awesome to see as a fan as well. Garrett Wolfe probably took more pics than anyone and always had a video camera with him when we toured the opposing stadiums before games. not an intimidation thing at all. all the guys grew up watching football and the shoe is one of the most historic stadiums in the country. if you had a chance to be on the field to take pictures knowing you would never have that opportunity again most likely, why wouldnt you? based off garrett's perforce at not only ohio st but michigan (where we all took a ton of pics before that game too) did he see intimidated? are you telling me kids from alabama wouldnt be taking pics of the shoe if they played there as well? they absolutely would, everyone would

Hilarious! MD says all week how it's impossible to beat the Buckeyes but then complains about guys admiring a classic stadium. Is he saying they have a chance now, but will blow it being in awe?

I am not taking the field Saturday :) It is just one of those things about social media that annoys me, just use some judgment in what you post.

This is just stupid, most kids on every team in college football take pictures and videos of practically every venue they ever play in and the social media outlets for those schools often publish pictures or videos of those kids doing so. This happens everywhere, all the time, and is not in any way, shape, or form poor judgement by anybody.

The team is excited to play the number 1 ranked team in the country on national television and takes some pictures and MD thinks they are already giving up. Last December MD also said he wouldn't be opposed to NIU backing out of this game because it's too tough. It's infuriating.
