Renee Bemis did the Yordon Center one:

I'd lean more towards her as an option

So cynical. But, so true.

RE: Memorial for Diesel
Can we start a go-fund-me for the master facility plan too? We can put a sweet statute of Diesel (replacing huskie pig) as the players run into New Huskie Stadium.

I would have some money for this. Someone with contacts in the athletic department needs to get approval. Setting up a gofundme would be no problem.

The High-Fiving Smiling Bronze Diesel is an incredible idea. Mark me in for $100 as well if we can have athletics confirm.

OK, I think we should push this forward. Do we have a volunteer to approach Athletics?

Does anyone have a suggestion who in athletics would be the best first contact?

I really think this should be made to happen. It would give fans a great picture spot at the entrance! Illinois has a giant Red Grange.

The best way to approach this with athletics is to show commitment to funding the whole facility plan with the caveat that if we come through with funding, they will come through with a statue, memorial, or what have you.

I am not sure how to "show commitment to funding the whole facility plan," and so, I think I will continue to see about pushing this very doable idea forward. This would do quite a bit to add to game day atmosphere and build tradition. And privately funded--- it should be a no-brainer.

quite possibility, the adm may be formulating something. As usual, people want somthing up yesterday. A memmorial would not cost that much where you have to hve a fundraiser.

Dont bet on the adm for much. This is the same group that wasn't going to allow Diesel on the field for homecoming last year until a strong push by the NIU fans.

No one here said they want something up yesterday. People are smart enough to know that this would take time, if done.

The thing to do is ask Athletics if anything like this is planned. If not, then suggest the idea of the statue. And, yes, a fundraiser IS necessary if not paid for by Athletics. The cost of a bronze statue will be several thousand dollars

Would that be the same administration that didn't even call Cheerdad to inform him there was going to be a tribute to Diesel last game?

yes that would be the same adminstration that failed miseraby in this oversight. When are they going to get anything right.

Wow. Bringing up the $136 million Facilities Master Plan when the discussion is about a memorial to Diesel. One has nothing to do with the other. If you're against it, just say so.

I took it for Granted that you'd be Mr. Negative about this. That's OK though. Just be honest about it.

I'd chip in $100.

But, we would need a guarantee that they wouldn't use the same artist responsible for Pigdog.
