NC State is a nice team but they don't have the type of explosive players, like a Stefan Diggs to challenge the best ACC teams.

They do have two hellacious running backs and one tall big quarterback.

We'll see. Last year Marshall hung 49 on us in the first half, despite 3 turnovers. I don't see them doing anything close to that this year.

Only time will tell but I am going to completely disagree with you.

RE: Week 3 vs. NC State
ODU is going to get better as the year goes on...I think Bentley will be very good next year which scares me when you guys come to Raleigh in '16. A lot of those throws against man coverage show what kind of talent he has. He really ate up State's blitz on that scoring drive he led, that will be a major positive to watch on film. I guess the real question is how well ODU's off/def lines develop going forward.

Other than the two option plays and the shovel pass, State once again went to a ho hum low risk offense. Only one shot downfield and a lot of short/intermediate passes coupled with the same run plays the offense has been running all year. Makes for a boring game with no explosive plays...but probably why State is leading the country at TOP with 40+ mins per game. As I noted in my preview, State's def line is a strength and with only 1 Sr starter they'll be tough next year.

As Coach Doeren noted in his post game, he was very appreciative of how the team and fans were treated. Some folks I know that attended the game wholeheartedly agree with this. They all said they were treated well, ODU fans were very friendly (some were even invited to tailgate as they walked by), and the atmosphere was big time. The general consensus on the multiple Wolfpack forums all say the same thing. Hopefully you all have a similar experience next year at the Carter.

Good luck the rest of the season.

The feeling was mutual, thought the NC State fans I encountered were pure class.

Despite the NC State game, Lawry is still the No. 4 rusher in the nation at 453 yards and remains No. 1 in C-USA, 72 yards ahead of Marshall's Devon Johnson, who is No. 11 in the nation. He is also tied for second in total points with 42. The O-line has to get its act together for APP State.

We got out of the game injury free did we not? They come out against App with a chip on their shoulder and come out with a W.

Re: Week 3 vs. NC State
If we beat App State next week. I think we go 7-5 and make a bowl. Last year we went 4-4 in conference play. No reason we can't do it this year, especially with a more favorable schedule. App state is the most important game of the year.

I'm just watching the game now, the drops are evident. Hope we get this issue resolved by next weekend. Bentley seems to be putting the ball on the money. Also love the uniforms and helmet, they look very clean imo.

You're right! it's a little ridiculous how many chances they gave him. However, this will not matter. He is a beast but Dayes is what makes this team go. He is one of the most complete backs in the country and I believe Jaylen Samuels will carry the goal line load. Samuels is now in the conversation as the best tight end in the country. They are LEGIT

Doeren has suspended Thornton three times for violating team rules or university policies.

"Every single player that I've ever dealt with it, it always comes down to: Do I think there's reason to continue to work with this guy? Is he remorsed? Is he going to get better? Is this hurting our football team?" Doeren said.

"At some point, you say, 'No, I can't help him anymore. I'm done.' With him, I didn't feel that way.

"I'm excited that he gets to play. He's been through a lot, that he's brought on himself, and he's learned from it."

I still don't get it. This is his third suspension and he is still on the team? The coach sits him for two games that were never in doubt. Giving his team fresh legs for the third game. Was this really a punishment to the player? Did it matter to him to miss those games? Does anybody think that BW would every put up with this kind of BS from a player on his team? Is this what it takes to win at a P5 school? Now I don't know what the reasons for these 3 suspensions have been but I believe in second chances but this RB is now on his forth.

Guess the coach finally can't help him.
I really think there should be a look into all the other suspensions and hold the coach responsible for allowing him to continue to be part of the team.
I am so proud we have a coach that will never allow our program to have an individual like this stay on the team.

Also by the way I grew up a huge State fan. Most of my family is from Raleigh. So do not think I am just a sore loser.
