Troy has more winning season, bowls, and championships than ULM

USA and Texas state are about even but USA has been to a bowl

App is 1-0 against ULL and stAte

GS is undefeated against SBC

Coastal is better than Idaho and you know it

Ga state is our bottom dweller and still beat one of your teams lol

Troy has also been a bottom dweller the past few seasons.

USA and TXST are about even and ouch on that bowl comment. Still to soon 03-weeping.

App beat a injury riddled stAte team just like my TXST team did, I'm not claiming TXST is a better team because of it. Injuries happen and they can be devastating for a season that doesn't make the team bad. Not sure why ULL lost but if your going to use past success logic for Troy might as well be consistent for ULL.

GS beat TXST by 3 points and our QB played awful. Not saying that is an excuse but don't think that GS is so far ahead of everyone that they are a slam dunk #1. *Did not play ULL

Coastal might be Georgia Southern or they might be Georgia State so I took the team that has at least won a game at this level.

Debating who is better between NMSU and Georgia State is kinda ridiculous... It's more of a fight to see who can overcome success to lose not overcome adversity to win, on that front I feel like Georgia State has the edge.

Yes because a 4-8 ULM team last year wasn't? Troy was 6-6 the year before same as Texas State....so you can't say we have been bottom dweller last few season(s)

History shows Troy won't stay down. And we are seeing improvement

better than 3-9...

and yep both ULM and Troy were 6-6 that season it was a pretty even season for a lot of teams in 2013

The season before that ULM 8-5, Troy 5-7

I agree that Troy will improve but it hasn't happened yet so until then...

That was ULMs one and only winning season since becoming FBS I believe... But whatever lol. Guess the past only goes back the last 4 years 01-wingedeagle

Baseball NCAA Appearances:
East: 64
West: 32

Basketball NCAA Appearances:
East: 21
West: 20

NCAA Bowl Game Appearances:
East: 6 bowl games in 17 combined FBS eligible seasons = 35.3% of the time.
West: 15 bowl games in 229 combined FBS eligible seasons = 6.6% of the time.

It's hard to compare football, so I used percentages.

Lol I'm just arguing for the sake of arguing, gotta rep the west now lol. But yeah the past does start 4 years ago for me, unlike SOME fan bases I don't count our time in FCS as comparable success.

Good work skully.

Of course the west has more FBS established programs. GS and App would have added 2 more bowls last year if eligible.

5 of those bowls were from Troy. 1 from USA

Well sun belt football existed way before 4 years ago and you can't leave it out. We had some pretty good football happening before 2011 from Troy, MTSU, FAU, FIU. Several P5 wins during that time too.

More bowls in the east than the west so the bowls will favor eastern teams. If the Camilla Bowl was in Texas, TXST would have gone and not USA.

Not directed at you specifically... But how in the name of Zeus' butthole does going to a bowl game mean anything about who is better?

We had a better record than USA, but they went to a bowl game.
We beat stAte, but they went to a bowl game.

Neither of those factors contribute to who is a better team.

Hell, App beat stAte & the Cajuns, but didn't go to a bowl game.
Georgia Southern beat every Sun Belt team they faced and didn't go to a bowl.
(I mention them purely because it shows how going to a bowl doesn't compare to being a good team. Also, so folks didn't think I was using it purely because Texas State didn't go bowling).

Really, the divisions are pretty even, in the matchups most gave, except when it comes to NMSU/Idaho, Georgia State/CCU. I'd actually do closer to a push for NMSU/CCU and then a toss up of Idaho/Georgia State.

Though, right now, the arrow points up for the east there, while the west is at best... neutral.

We won a FCS and a D2 title! That makes us the best team in the west right?

Drop idaho move usa and troy west and add jax state and eku to the east.
This would leave a very tough football conference.

I'm not sure Troy would be willing to go West they do a lot of recruiting in Georgia pretty sure they would like to keep GA So and GA ST, but true not a bad looking conference. Have to drop NMSU as well. What does Jax St basketball and baseball look like?

I meant to say drop nmsu, dont know why i didnt.
basketball currently is terrible we need a new coach very badly. Baseball is pretty good we play troy and usa often.
troy may well be happy to be in the opposite division than us

Jax State is pretty good right now, but late this year, next year and beyond, Troy would beat Top 10 FCS teams 8 out of 10 times. Neal Brown & Co. are not scared of Jax State.

So...the West will basically be decided by the winner of the 3 game round robin between ASU, ULL, and Texas State most years, with ULM sneaking in on occasion to cause problems?

I wonder how many times the App State/GS winner will win the East title in a 5 year period?

Depends on who each plays from the other division and vice versa 05-stirthepot.

Three east teams play each other and then either ULL, ULM, NMSU or Ark St., Tx St., and Idaho, while the west members play App, USA, CCU, or GS, Troy, GA St. rotating every two years.

Of course as programs flux it gets all kinds of screwed up.
