1-10 if Torbush plays Herink/Sexton, and maybe 3-7 if Torbush only plays Herink.

I agree. The on the field evidence is overwhelming. The fact that Torbush couldn't decide which QB is better going in to game #1 scares me. The fact that he still won't admit it gives me no faith that he can make this program succeed.O'Cain is a legit QB coach. He has to know better.

Does Torbush have Alzheimer's or something because it seems he can only remember before the season started?

Does Torbush take calls on his coaches show? Be interesting if every caller asked the same question, Why is Sexton still playing?
Call 2.. Why is Sexton still playing? Caller 3.. .. makes no sense

We need to all spam the show on Tuesday and ask that question.

But Sexton did throw two balls for touchdowns. You gotta give him that.

The second interception was all the receivers fault. Decent pass by Sexton.

I hope we recruit some transfers and juco's for next year, otherwise things will be really ugly next season. It's obvious we are not ready for FCS competition.

Play two type first quarters the first half, and it's a 13-7 final score. Of course, there are all kinds of possibilities. Just trying to find something positive to hang my hat on. Seriously, take away that 2nd qtr melt down, and it looks better, right?

Take away that 2nd quarter meltdown AND not had Sexton in to throw that last interception that went straight to a TD, then it could have really been a competitive game. The first quarter was pretty good and showed some halfway decent football.

The only reason we scored is because chuck south was playing their 5th string. If they played their first string all game, they put up 70.

True - I thought that gave us an interesting comparison though. Most of the kids playing there in the later 3rd and 4th were their younger players, freshman and sophomores. It was a little bit more apples to apples look at how our team stacks up against others with similar experience.

RE: Official Game Thread: Charleston Southern (L 7-47)
What I'd like to know is who is ultimately responsible for this cluster of a schedule... Kennesaw State had a two year jump on us and completely different path with them having to play a conference schedule this year. Maryville College was coming off three straight winning seasons, Charleston Southern is ranked in FCS, Montana State is traditionally good. What I don't understand in all this is why didn't they go after every 1-3 win team in NAIA and Division III possible. Instead they schedule teams with winning records, and FCS teams that ETSU has no business playing against with almost entirely all freshmen.
I just can't imagine that the coaching staff had full control of this schedule, especially since the head coach from Maryville is now on our staff. I don't know, maybe ETSU started a year early. In the race to get back to the beloved SoCon they tried to fast track it. Was it really worth it when we could've waited until an on campus stadium was built or maybe they get it worked out to play at Summers-Taylor Stadium? I know hindsight is 20/20, but I guess I'm looking at it from the perspective of who's in charge. An old guy who has no experience with football, and a guy who's primary background is in advancement and other than playing the game has zero background as it relates to the administration side of athletics.
That's the question I'd like answered. ETSU's schedule should've been more like Ky. Wesleyan (which we're playing), Campbellsville college (ky), UVA-Wise, Brevard, Berry College, Shorter College, and whatever other 2-3 win programs they can get on the home schedule. If they want a measuring stick game, schedule Presbyterian, Austin Peay, and any other struggling FCS team.
Still trying to stay positive, but with the two qb system and the overall lack of talent on the defensive and offensive line, it's going to be a struggle to win any of these.

Well I know you have to schedule at least half of your games in the division you play in. Besides that, no clue.

I heard Jay Sandos on Dons show last Saturday. Said in order to play full SoCon schedule next year had to have at 5 or 6 FCS schools scheduled this year. Also mentioned that they had planned to play only 10 games this year but Montana needed a game late. The dates worked for both and ETSU got some money to play them. Not sure if that helps much but seems to be a reason for what's happening.

Also We've known for over a year that we'd be playing freshman and RS freshman. Not real surprised with the results.
