Hard to believe it has been 14 years. Still remember that day like it was yesterday. Yes, never forget.

I remember exactly where I was when I heard the news. This is one of those events I imagine pretty much everyone can.

I remember I was two weeks into my first job as a history teacher. That day we watched on TV all day. After that, my principal gave me permission to do a week long lesson on what caused this event. It was one of the best teaching moments I ever had.

I went back all the way to the War in Afghanistan and Beirut Bombings.

I was 17 and had just graduated basic training when this happened.

I know exactly where I was and what I was doing when the news spread.

I remember watching on TV....the two events I remember clearly were when the buildings collapsed and when folks began jumping out of windows.

Horrific to watch on live TV, can't imagine how it was in New York.

I didn't join the Army thinking I would go to war, but obviously that changed in a hurry.

16 and was sick at home.

I turned on the TV to the report of the first crash and then witnessed the 2nd plane live. It was sureal.

Watched the news for probably 12 hours that day.

Terrifying day.

The next day, a sweet girl from my youth group handed me a note(texting was not a thing yet) about an upcoming candle light vigil and her expressing her feelings about the whole event. Didn't expect it, but it was warming to have someone ask me how I was doing with all that had gone on.

That same sweet girl and I are expecting our 2nd child in 2 weeks.

I remember in the week following being suspicious of any plane I saw in the sky. That was a weird and unsettling feeling.

I remember for a couple of days noticing that there were no planes in the sky. I never thought I would actually notice the silence.
