- No more traffics jams behind section 118 thanks to the inverted concessions. PRAISE. JESUS. By far the worst part of every game was the crush of people leaving their seats meeting the crush of folks waiting in lime for food.

- I had an excellent burger & fries in the restaurant over the Lair (can't remember the name), and I had a couple cheese coneys later. Loved the food.

- I parked in Calhoun garage which is easy in and out.

- The new black setbacks are much for comfortable and it felt like I had an inch or two more room

All good.

The only negative:

I stand up for the kickoff. Of course. My brother and I are standing for the first defensive play (along with many others) when I hear a fat piece of sh*t from 3 rows back yell, "HEY! HEY! Are you gonna stand the whole game!?!" I told him I'll stand when I want and he doesn't get to tell me what to do. I stood the rest of the defensive series out of spite, but sat most of the rest of the game since it wasn't exciting. It's not like we had a lot of crucial third downs, it was a blowout. But that ******* needs to learn how to talk to people. Yelling is a sure fire way to get the opposite of what you want.

I get the attracting more flies with honey thing, but if no one else around you is standing, it's probably time to sit. While I'm sure it's a nice one, no one spent hundreds of dollars on season tickets to see your ass. Nor should you be the one to decide that every row behind you stand for most of the game. Consideration works both ways.

And, no, that wasn't me yelling at you.

I personally haven't had much of an issue with this, but every once in a while you get some one who thinks the experience is so much better standing for most of the game and can't understand that others can't or simply don't want to stand for an entire game. My father is 77 years old, and I know he fits into both of those categories.

I totally agree with you. This was the first play and 1/2 the people were standing, so I was. When Fatty McBadass decided to show off to has friends by yelling at me, he made a miscalculation.

I was sitting in the corner close to the endzone. Looking up at the new structure to my left it was unbelievably impressive. I text my brother that it felt like I was at a game in the SEC or something. It is beautiful and has the big time look now. Very cool.

My only complaint was the restrooms we used was a trailer, I thought that still had that small time feel.

RE: Nippert Stadium observations
Guess I'm in the minority who thought everything about the new nippert is great. people need to remember we have been told over and over they aren't done with some of the painting and sprucing up . New sound system and scoreboard comes next year. I'm on the east side pavilion and the navigation and amenities on that side are 100% better. Actually going into half empty new restrooms , options of craft beer . I really don't pay a lot of
Attention to the ribbon boards much but the view of the new west side structure is just big time atmosphere .

Parking...Pre bought a campus green pass online , that was a pain but worth it in the end. Great to tailgate in ...easy in (at 330pm)..plenty of room ..the garage was far from sold out.

Looking forward to next week. Big game and hopefully the weather cooperates this time

Ok I take that back ..I'll throw a negative out there. Thought I wouldn't care..but I want the Halloween theme music back on third downs. It really bothered me not doing it. So we went with the make some noise scoreboard graphics instead?

Yep - no one around us could understand why they played when their offense was trying to call signals - and they were LOUD, but I doubt we will see a better half time show the remainder of the season. Got a huge ovation from the appreciative fans.

Ribbon boards HAVE to be used for something other then ads all game. How about putting scores from other games - where those are now they are tough to see, and they seem to put them up, at least early in the game, for a few seconds at a time. Running UC game stats throughout the game would also be helpful - as it is, with nothing but ads, after a while you just tune it out and don't watch.

OK - that was probably me - and I do apologize for "yelling" at you to sit down (with the noise level I didn't think anyone could hear an ordinary level comment/request)- not cool - but there were extenuating circumstances which I don't think necessary to get in to here - again, sorry for the comment, but in truth, I wasn't trying to impress anyone - I don't even know the people sitting around us -and my wife, the one person I do know, made it plain that I had behaved badly. Again, sorry.

Yes they did play it on third down. It's a mixed version, but still the theme.

Now, for the negatives:

1.) bathrooms on the west side are trailers!? I'm standing in a long line thinking "this is what $86m gets you?" I took a pic, but don't know how to post it.

2.) I'm a little guy and the seats with the padding and chair backs are so shallow I was sitting on the edge of it all night.

3.) ribbon board. Looks nice, but adds nothing to the experience when all it runs are ads for an electrician.

Overall impression is good. It feels like a big time environment.

The bathroom in trailers is directly under the service entrance to the bookstore, I'm sure permanent restrooms there wasn't an option. Not sure I get the complaints. There are new permanent restrooms behind the concession stand on the west side.

All valid comments Billy....but the bold one to me is the most important (or at least up there near the top).

Definitely a big time environment. Recruits will be impressed and hopefully so will the ACC and Big 12. I chatted up as many old timers as possible during the rain delay and they were pretty much in disbelief that this is now our stadium. I am too - having gone to school in the 90's. And it's not just the stadium. The entire game day experience itself is something I think the casual fan will really appreciate. Happy they got it done.

Did not see this thread. I posted this on another board, but here is a good spot for it too...

Was in town to see my brother's family, my father, in addition to the game.

The trip down to Nippert was ominous, as my brother and I couldn't manage to get our sh!t together, and got down there probably an hour later than planned.

We split a growler, and headed toward Nippert at 6:30. At that point it began to rain - hard. We didn't really care. The entire day was hotter than hell, so we decided to enjoy the downpour. We were two of very few bothering to walk to the game, as most stayed huddled in campus bars.

Brother took a pic of me drinking a beer next to the Bearcat statue, then went in.

Walked around, took it in, and admired in awe! Temporarily sat down on a couple chairbacks under the structure, and watched the student section in utter amusement. They hung out in the storm, then began to storm the field. Got to the 50, then saw the cops methodically pacing towards them, and thought better of the situation. But the police were peaceful, respectful and reasonable from my view. Very entertaining scene.

HUGE crowd, considering the storm and delay. Probably cleared out quicker, since the delay messed with personal schedules, but quite a scene on Saturday.

We sat with Rath and Billy. Great time!

Oh - BTW, Alabama A&M's band kicks ASS! UC's did too obviously.

You know,,,, everyone that goes to the game is a Bearcat fan..
It is inconsiderate to stand up for long periods of time and block
others view... Who,, in their right mind,,, thinks that acting like
a jerk is a good thing...
Show a little class and the crowds will keep growing....

Absolutely loved everything about our experience in the new Nippert.

We're in the second deck in the east concourse and those bridges to the new concessions and restrooms are a godsend.

I didn't have many complaints before the renovation, but the atmosphere was definitely kicked up a notch this past weekend. We might have woken a monster - in a helluva good way.

I echo those comments. We are in sec 207. Did not really have an issue before, however the bridge to the new concessions and bathrooms was a godsend. Mrs. Bearcatmill was impressed, which is always good.

It was good seeing you guys. There was some quality stand up material being bandied about in that section. Let us know when you are back in town for the game later this season.

Rath- you should have stayed on the East side. Didn't George Jefferson teach you nuthin'?

The view of the West was absolutely incredible. Just like if you want a view of Cincinnati you need to go to Kentucky. And the concessions/bathroom thing is better over there.

My kids said looking at the sillouhettes in the club seats was kind of eerie. Like looking at the evil Empire guys in the episode 2 of Star Wars. That cracked me up.

Anyway, very happy with it. If we bring recruits, they should sit on the East side if they're not IN the Club.

Tell Weezy I gave my seats away thinking we would be down at the farm...then I looked at the forecast and talked mini-me out of it. I can do sweltering heat while bowhunting. I can do sideways rain while bowhunting. I can't do both in the same day.

A good man in a storm took care of mini-me and I with those seats. We will likely be back on the Dark Side with Archie Bunker on Saturday.
