This game is ugly

Nobody ever said it was going to be easy. The Vikings have signed Wisconsin quarterback Joel Stave as an undrafted free agent. Now TH will be fighting once again to stay on the 53 man roster. Stave is the prototypical size for today's NFL quarterback at 6'5" and 235 pounds.

TH has his work cut out for him, but I think he is up to it. Here's hoping he not only can stave off (pun intended) this new threat, but also move up to the number two slot.

Would like to see the Vikings ( who are my team ) let go of Shaun Hil, who has to be close to 40, l and make Taylor the backup.

It would suck to see Stave become the backup and TH either get cut or stuck at 3rd string. I have a feeling that Shaun Hill's days are limited but you never know. The NFL is a tough league and I hope Taylor can make the roster this year.

Stave is a terrible QB. Even though he has the frame to be a successful QB his skills and decision making are sub par and is definitely not a contender for QB or for that matter to the Backup position and even the badger fans think he won't cut it.

Heinicke is a much better QB and has a year up on him. If the Vikes are dumb enough to cut Heinicke, then he will find a spot somewhere. This is likely just another arm to have enough balls to through around in camp.

That is exactly what it is. Heinicke proved himself enough last preseason to gain interest from teams. I do not see Minnesota letting him go.

Tebow was a great QB, but got the ax, even after making the playoffs. Nobody wants him, which surprises me. He would have been awesome in the Dolphins Wildcat O a few years ago.

I'm hoping that Heinicke will be the next Brady. Continue to be looked over and then finally get his chance to shine...

"Tebow was a great QB?" Great at what? Missing Open Receivers? Tebow played in a college system that hid his deficiencies and highlighted his toughness and running ability. He could not hit the broadside of a barn which is why no one wants him for anything more than an emergency backup.

Add another QB in the mix now with Marquise Williams from UNC picking up with them as an UFA. Dont get all ass hurt because its UNC. I know there are a few on here that cringe at anything UNC...

not great sure, but better than most of the backups in the league.

You need a certain # of QBs to get through mini camp and training camp. Teams add them all the time. Most of them rarely get into even a preseason game unless it's mopup. It doesn't mean they're considered serious candidates to make the roster.

Far worse than pretty much every back up in the league.

If Tebow had agreed to switch to TE, he might still be in the league.

I just checked out the Vikings web site, and there is a recent (a couple of hours old) article there on the ten UFAs that they have signed, and it makes no mention of Marquise Williams. It looks like they have not signed him, but possibly they have invited him to camp. Anybody have anything more definitive?

And if he does get cut, look at how many teams are desperate for qb's right now.

Rg3 just got another chance. Mark Sanchez might start for the super bowl champs.

He will absolutely get picked up somewhere if the Vikings cut him but odds are, they don't.

Plus his salary is at the bottom of the scale....will work for cheap. High priced clipboard holders are a dime a dozen.

seems like the vikings kept three qb's last year because they saw something in Taylor to make that decision. Shaun Hill is old. I have to think that Taylor will be pushing him for the backup position and may actually be the #2 by the end of camp. Seems like he is a good fit for their system. Last year I believe the vikings had four qbs in camp? Taylor will definitely get his chance and I see him getting a lot of playing time during preseason.
