AAC Kickoff Observations - SMU v Baylor
Baylor - 58
SMU - 21

SMU has made great progress under ex-TU asst Chad Morris. I also noticed he hired ex-TU asst Van Malone as DC.

SMU ran out of gas late in the game and the score wasn't indicative of the competitiveness of the game. But so far this year, it was the most fun game to watch.

1. Stop the QB - Davis. He is scary good. He is the kind of QB who can destroy you with the pass or the scramble/run. He is the most valuable player they have and did the same to Baylor this year he did to us last. He is very proficient at the zone reads and play action passes.

2. The OL held its own for most of the game but ran out of "juice". They will improve as the season goes on.

3. The defense is way behind the progress of the offense, but still managed to have a few bright spots. The Baylor offense is the offense they will see when we play them. I just hope we can come close to the points.

4. SMU has played the best of the AAC teams I've seen so far. They look like an upper division team in the AAC.

Now its our turn.

GO TU!
