RE: PJ
WMU would have to go 8-3 the rest of the season for PJ to get to .500 as a head coach.

RE: PJ
let us all take a minute to how narrowly it could have been NIU rowing the boat. in fact many of you on this board ordained a young PJ fresh from Rutgers the Doeran successor.

in another dimension, in another timeline, on a parallel universe PJ is pumping up Drew Hare for tomorrows game.

I very much dislike you for mentioning this alternate reality and demand you damage my brain until I can no longer think of this.....idea....you've posited!

Boise looked like trAsh tonight. They have no QB. They got the win but kind of alarming how bad their offense is

Very much true. Some folks behind the scenes out here would know better than I, but I would Guess that if Him and Dave Doeren gelled/rolled really well early on, your coach may be PJ Fleck right now. And you'd have oars all over the place, and us WMU fans would be rolling our eyes non-stop, flipping our hair scoffing, etc.

WMU put up a good fight. No quit in the team. That IS what PJ's Energy (fueled by Red Bull I'm sure; he Has to be a sponsor for that lol) brings.

But WMU did drop an gimme pass for what would have been a TD in the 1st half. Missed a 39 yarder in opening drive in a no-pressure situation on own turf. 8 penalties for 77 yards, compared to MSU's only 25 yards of penalties the whole game. Some drive extenders/killers. MSU should have made our QB have negative running yards, but aside from a 4 yard run by the QB, 8 situations/sacks for -31 yards. Ouch. Too much. Plus, 2 KEY INTs on our part (one a bopped ball in the air deep in our own territory), so we lost the turnover battle, too.

With all that said, our will & strength of a thousand field mice kept us fighting. Lost by 13 to #5. Kept some pride going in the MAC (West). CMU aimed to be 2nd-worst in the MAC West only lost to OK-State by 11.

Hopefully tomorrow the MAC East can hold their own and do decently. Akron vs Oklahoma and BGSU vs Tennessee. Maybe PJ can give them a fire-up speech! :)

I didn't see the game, so feel free to call me dumb, but if MSU had a QB I think that game gets out of hand.

You could be right, I've not paid attention to the preseason stuff at all. I'm probably confusing him with somebody else, looking up his stats. He's at least decent.

Cook is one of the best QBs out there... or at least aimed to be. He didn't have a great night, but on 3rd downs he made some sweet passes showing he's just rusty and needs to gel more with receivers before getting on point. His % was down because he needed multiple tries to get 1st downs because of it. Some of those threaded passes and awesome catches by MSU showed they just needed to dust the rust off.

Basically what happened was, MSU jumped out to a huge lead, got bored, Let WMU score a couple times with disinterested defense, the coach got mad, MSU scored, then the game was over. MSU could do whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted, it's just hard to get excited when you're up by 3 scores against WMU.

Is that why we we drove to the 7 on our last drive looking to cut it to 1 possession?

That's not really how it went down, Wmu got down big and started coming back, msu could do nothing to stop it until that pick. Wmu had the ball with the offense rolling ready to cut it to six points, which would have given them a realistic chance at an upset. Didn't happen but it's not like msu was up big and Wmu scored to make it look closer
