Sunbelt Championship Game?
Now that we have 12 teams for football. What city, and what venue should host the the Sunbelt Championship Game?

I personally believe that the team who has the best conference record should host, but what are yall thoughts?

If it was a neutral site I am thinking New Orleans, Superdome but that may be redundant since we already have the NO Bowl.

This makes the most sense, economially, and from a fan draw perspective . . . . Best Record Hosts . . . Also provides another incentitive for winning on the field . . .

I like neutral site games. How about here in Little Rock (biased), or somewhere in Tennessee or Mississippi?

I prefer Nashville, TN. It's about in the center of everyone.

We should showcase our conference to the outside world. Don't keep it bundled up in the 'home' states.

Neutral site games are expensive and will not have a good atmosphere. The best thing for the SBC is to have a member institution host.

the Liberty Bowl in Memphis with a capacity of 61k might be an option

Memphis is a dangerous town. The stadium is in a bad area.

Every conference should have the better team host, but only the SEC and maybe Big Ten can really pull off a neutral site game. I do not believe even the ACC has been particularly successful with it. The MAC's game in Detroit is usually a very sad looking affair.

RE: Sunbelt Championship Game?
I think the team with the best conference record should host and here's why.

- Should get 25 to 30k in attendance for the hosting school.

-expand your fanbase ( people that would not normally come to the game would be interested.)

-Creates incentive to have the best conference record

-Brings in money to the hosting school.

-Let's the regular fan to celebrate and share in the experience.

-Creates another home game for the hosting school.

-Also gives a slight advantage to the school with the best record.

It should be highest-ranked gets the game. That will normally be the team with the best conference record. But in the rare case where it's not you still want your highest ranked team hosting. Best chance for the entire conference to get cash.

RE: Sunbelt Championship Game?
Campus sites > neutral site

I would rather have a good atmosphere and a large crowd than a neutral field championship game. Home field of the team with the best record. Atlanta, Mobile, and New Orleans make sense if we go the netral field route. International airports, destination locations. But I would rather see a packed 25,000+ seat stadium than a mostly empty 50-70,000 seat stadium. The MAC and the ACC championship games look bad on TV.

Neutral site would be a disaster for G5 leagues. Even the ACC has struggled.
