If VT was smart, they'd hire Schiano as an assistant and then transition over when Beamer leaves
Better do it fast too, because a lot of teams would love to get Schiano...he's an excellent coach, Tampa Bay tenure be damned

He's never been mistaken for a defensive coach. But a few more games with lousy play calling like last night and his seat gets warm in a hurry.

I'll say Bob Stoops....Oklahoma needs a good season, or else that 2000 Championship will start looking old....

I watched the 30 for 30 the other night on Miami. OU is darn lucky they did not have to play the 2000 Miami squad. Stoops would not have a NC, or be the winningest coach in OU history.
But he did win 3 Heismans in a short period of time as well as a bunch of games.

agreed
I think if we had a 4 team playoff all along, we'd have vastly different results
Last year in the BCS probably would have been FSU against Alabama lol

OU has won two Heismans under Stoops, not three (Jason White, Sam Bradford).

-Mike London, Virginia- could be the first coach fired during the season.
-Paul Rhoads, Iowa State- This is his 7th season there so he’s no longer fixing anyone else's mess.
-Kyle Flood, Rutgers- when Rutgers joined the B10 it truly became a big time program, and they’re going to want a big time coach.
-Kevin Wilson, Indiana- I’m surprised he’s still there.
-Willie Taggart, South Florida- this is only his second season, but what once looked like an excellent hire has been a complete flop.
-Bob Davie, New Mexico: What an awful, uninspiring hire.
-Scott Shafer, Syracuse- it’s only his third year but the Orange went 3-9 last year and I don’t think things will improve from here.
-Al Golden, Miami- he’d be far higher on this list if Phil Steele weren’t so enthusiastic on the Canes this season.
-Darryl Hazell, Purdue- It’s only his third season and don’t think he’ll be fired, but he’s 4-20 here and another two or three win season would make him not being retained a possibility.
Charlie Strong better start winning at Texas. Is this job his Alamo?
Mark Stoops at Kentucky had better start winning, also!

Agree with all of these. Small correction-it is Taggart's third year at USF.

After events so far this week:
Flood jumps to the top of the list.
O'Leary moves onto the list somewhere, maybe into the top 5.

So, Rutgers plays Penn State on the 19th? Lose the game, and he's canned the next day.

He might start feeling some heat but he isn't going anywhere. Remember that when he was hired they gave him a seven year contract because of the sanctions they were under.

Army's coach. He doesn't deserves to have his name spelled out until he beats FCS schools.

No, quite sure his job's in danger now. Him and/or the AD.
The team was supposed to look that bad last year, still under punishment and no o-line. It was supposed to get better this year, way better.
Hack's broken. Really feel bad for him now.

Penn St isn't going to be whole for a few years. I'd be curious to hear how many scholarship players they had today. I guarantee you it's not anywhere close to 85.

They had 81 on scholarship after spring ball, if this is correct.

wow you can see Penn St's problem from the chart..... only 29 guys in as either Juniors or Seniors. With only 10 seniors.
