Blackwell finally got canned. Can't post a link from my phone, but its no surprise. I know many cops in this city, everyone of them tells me the guy was an absolute *******.

According to the documentation, the guy was taking selfies with people along the procession route for Sonny Kim, if that's true..... I don't even know what to say to that. I am sure this decision will be labels as racist, ignoring the fact the city manager that fired him is black, and the new interim Chief is also black.

Can it be called racially motivated if the next guy to be hired is going to be in the same racial minority?

This has been in the works for months. There's a reason Whalen is at UC right now. Despite his resume he knew he had no chance & I almost guarantee you he knew this firing was getting ready to take place. That and he makes a lot more $$ at UC with a lot less headaches.

Sounds like he is going to sue. Based on how long this took and all the examples of problems cited, it seems like the city is prepared for that and will be more than ready, although we haven't really heard his side.
