Just saw the app being promoted on IG.

Hopefully the free tuition will also be promoted soon

It was also just posted again on twitter...but no mention of the free tuition.

Quick question for anyone familiar with permit parking. I have a permit for the water tower lots, and just wondering how common it is if that lot is full if you are siphoned off to the Convo lot. If you do get pushed away with the permit if no spots are available, can you show the permit and get into the Convo lot without paying?

It's been several years, but on an occasion or two, the lot I was assigned was full and they relocated me to another lot for no charge (but it wasn't the Convo lot).

Do they really over sell permits for that lot? I didn't think that was the case, but not familiar with water tower lot. I know that is not the case for the East lot, as I have a number spot so I know it's going to be open.

I don't know about now but back in the Jiff days they oversold the lots by a lot...some were double sold.

Haven't had an issue. Usually about 1/2 to 2/3 full.

The NOT MANY LEFT has been taken off of the Ticketmaster website for this game. I'm guessing that is not good news.

Why do our fans/this town/a fair portion of the alumni/families of students suck so much at getting out here... *** **** man
I'm just speaking more out of frustration, as a passionate student i don't get how people around here don't embrace what the Huskies are doing here

Certainly does put a cold shower on the P5 fantasies when you cannot even draw more than 16000 for an opening game against an FBS opponent on a Saturday night when the athletic department has bent over backwards making the gameday experience better. I think this goes to show there has been a longer term damage to the "football culture" recently in the DeKalb community. Whether you want to point to lack of marketing/relations with community partners/ESPN weeknight games, it seems as though a minor disconnect has developed that may take some time to rebuild. A part of it is probably that generation now that has to be parked by their devices at all times and do not want to leave home to go to a game, as attendance across all college football is down. But I think there is some local issues to this attendance problem also.

I see two factors.

1. Labor Day weekend (for some)

2. It's time to better promote the 1965 Hy-Vee $19.65 ticket to the casual fan that doesn't frequent the boards or has overlooked this on the website.

Might be hot for tailgating, but with the game starting at 6:30 it should be comfortable by then.

Have to hope for a good walk up crowd. Which might happen if it doesn't rain. If it's nice and we don't get a crowd I am out of answers.

Since there is no demand for tickets, non-season ticket holders are going to wait until game day to purchase.

As far as recent history of Season Openers at Home....

Last year of course was Presby on Thursday night: 12,398. Ouch.

You have to go back to 2011 for the next home Season 0pener which was Army on a slightly drizzly Saturday night: 17K.

I say we get in the 18-20K range. I really home it's a number that starts with a 2.
