You obviously have a reading problem. The statement was 'some', but since you brought it up, I'll put Eastern's running backs up with Toledo's any day of the week. Sorry, but you have no monopoly when it comes to running backs.
Like your predicted EMU win over Toledo last year, this is a lot of hot air. Just because you say or write something, doesn't make it happen. Come on Ken, think of EMU football as the 95 pound scrawny wimp on the beach. You can't start kicking sand in the bully's face until you've actually put the time in to get stronger and better. Otherwise the trash talk is just a prelude to an a** kicking and nothing more.

Let's pump the brakes a little. Kareem Hunt is probably the best (or 2nd best after Franklin) running back in the league. The annoying, opportunistic Toledo fan that pops in here every now and then is right on this one, sadly.

Agree. EMU is very deep with unproven talent at RB. Breck Turner is an interesting recruit. He had offers from a few Big Ten schools and half of the MAC (including UT).

I'm very intrigued by Turner. He actually had similar offers and recognition to Juwan Lewis when we recruited him in the English days. I'm glad Lewis will get a chance to show what he can do this year. Talented back.

So you never answered my question from an earlier post Bob. As I was told by other posters, and now see quite clearly, most everything you post is negative toward EMU football.

What is your relationship to the program? Alumni, family of alumni, CMU/WMU troll, random fan/critic? Just curious.

Agreed. Jackson & Lewis look solid, so does Turner get redshirted, or do they burn it and give him some carries to see if he is the future at the position? Or give Shaq Vann the carries since he's already redshirted and save/develop Turner another year?

Dear Friends,
Let's get things straight before anointing Toledo's running back. First I said "some" which everyone has ignored. Next, Toledo must replace their entire offensive line. What does that do for their running back? If he gets no hole to run through, I don't care how good any back may be, he's going nowhere.

Dear Bob,
Predictions are just that. If I'm wrong so what. You act as if the world is hanging in the balance because I have been wrong. I didn't think my name was Jesus Christ.

Alumni. But a fan of EMU sports since I was 10. Doug Crisan was a star RB at Northville High and went on to start for EMU. Being a fan of his, I followed his career at EMU and became a fan of Eastern. I was a sophomore when we won the MAC title by beating BG at Rynearson. The place was so packed, we had to sit on the visitor's side. I have seen the best the program has offered and the worst--I cannot believe that we have been in this 20 year funk. By the way, this site operates in a bubble, most EMU alumni who attended school in the 80's and 90's are way harsher than me. They won't even attend a game and have completely disassociated themselves from EMU athletics. It sucks how far the program has fallen since the 90's.

Ken, know this; if you are right, I will be the first to praise you because I would be ecstatic. I hate that we lose.

I'd save Turner for another year ie redshirt him.

They have Reggie Bell who could emerge as one of the top dual threat quarterbacks in the league. Eastern also has some of the best running backs in the league, and has depth at that position.
The defense should be improved with some of the Juco, and other transfer players that have been brought in. Lastly, do you remember where Western was picked to finish last year? Fifth. So, if Western can have the kind of turn around that they had last year, so can Eastern.
I am picking them to win more than two games. Ye of little faith.

best Running backs in the league? What league? The Detroit Catholic league?

This **** is too funny.

Well we could talk men's hoops instead?
