There is so much noise out there that I don't think anyone knows exactly what is going on. Would be nice if someone would publicly say "here's our plan" and set out the stages and how much each stage would cost and what the deadlines are.
There is strong talk of a stadium. But at this point with the stooges running the asylum, that stadium will likely not be a university facility, but a facility built with the assistance of and operated by the BJCC board.

We're only going to get one shot to build a stadium. Putting it by the BJCC would be a mistake. Surely the BJCC isn't going to help fund a stadium on southside right?

Is he playing for time to wait out Watts? I am willing to reserve judgment on him but, he was sold to us as a great FUNDRAISER; should he not be out there selling our athletics program and I don't know...fundraising.

It doesn't necessarily have to be run by the BJCC. If the BJCC is involved they're going to demand it be a 70,000 seat enclosed facility north of I-20/59.
It could just as easily be built via the "sports park authority" or whatever the board is called that was formed to build Regions Field, of which Brian Mackin was a member. Regions Field is owned by the city but managed by the Barons. I'd much prefer a RF-style arrangement than a BJCC-style arrangement.

Funny spot he finds himself in. As an athletic program, we are in the middle of something right in his wheelhouse. As an employee, his boss (and boss' bosses) really doesn't want it to happen though.
I want him to do something as much as anyone else, but I certainly do not envy his position.

Maybe Ingram is one of those quiet, behind-the-scenes, organizer-type fundraising ADs... wait... I just described Brian Mackin.

Nor do I. Being hired by watts made him a bad guy to some of our fans, no matter what he did. It's easy to say what you'd do when you aren't in that position. He can't win.
