RE: JMU2FBS T-shirt samples and vendor needed!
We're still looking at other t-shirt vendors to try to improve options and lower price so we'll keep y'all posted.

We may introduce a small mark-up and put those profits towards purchasing t-shirts for giveaways (such as at games or for pledges over a certain amount). We can hopefully also set up a way for folks to donate t-shirts for giveaways. It'd be great to get the whole student section in these babies!

How would you all feel about a small mark-up (maybe $3) to go to that kind of cause? Would any of you purchase shirts towards giveaways?

I would be fully behind a markup as long as it goes towards advancing our goal.

I have no issue with that and support that idea. Decking out the Godwin side of the stadium in these facing the pressbox and premium seating would be sweet!!! Shove it in their face.

Proceeds going to student t-shirts would be epic. Imagine a televised game with a bunch of students donning "Just Move Up" t-shirts. Now that'd be something.

If there is a way for the vendor to use the profits to provide us with additional shirts instead of the actual cash, that would be easier from an accounting standpoint. If we start collecting cash, we need to open an account and I would feel compelled to provide an annual report type of document so everyone could see how transparent we were being with the money. It's another layer of admin that I would like to avoid if possible. I know people trust us to do the right thing but trust only works when it is verified with financials. I am probably being too much of a lawyer.

I believe we can use as credit. I will check, I am happy to provide report / access to the vendors system to a panel of people for the year as well.

If the shirts are sold at cost, I'd like to buy a bunch ("bunch" to be defined when the cost is known) to "donate" to JMU students and/or fans in Virginia. Give them away to people who will wear them and advance the cause.

I'd wear the shirt but it won't do much for the cause from here in Jersey.

Giving shirts out at a game doesn't work well. They come dressed with what they want to wear and it ends up getting carried around. How can we put shirts in their hands so that they are worn to a game? It would be especially neat to have the Freshmen wearing them for the game selected to lead the team out on to the field. Just a rough guess but it always appears to be 500 - 700 participants running the length of the field then proceeding up into the stands.

One "cheaper" option is to buy the 100 packs of buttons and pass them out at games. Cost / button is pretty low.

That's not a bad idea - we should pass those out to students too - if a couple people donate $100 that will give 100 students access to this message and maybe even checking out website after game

My tailgate spot is in the front row of Hanson Field, and faces Bluestone Drive close to the intersection with Carrier Drive. I wonder how a big poster/banner in front of my truck would look there..? Using a design similar to the shirt...? It would get a lot of visibility. The Dukettes put up a similar sign for their tailgate spot down the row from me.

I'm a JMU grad, & soon to be dad (daughter moving in to Honors School next week), an approved JMU procurement vendor, and have produced imprinted apparel & promotional products for JMU endeavors for many years. Our firm is the approved merchandise vendor for Richmond2015 UCI bike championships being held next month.
I will help as I can w/ discounted prices on T-shirts and/or other collateral materials for this great cause you're undertaking, not sure I/we want to be involved w/ fulfillment and individual order processing (maybe you can visit me @ PLot when football season starts). If I can help in the meantime. let me know. Bobby Baughan, Promotional Considerations bbaughan@promoconsiderations.com http://www.promoconsiderations.com

That is a GREAT IDEA and would be very high visibility. That would be a an excellent place for a large banner.

A word of caution about sales on gameday on campus or in tailgating lots. It's prohibited without consent of the appropriate JMU office. I think it's largely an issue because of the JMU bookstore.
