Bono health issue
His cancer has spread to his lymphnodes.

While not incurable it adds highly to the treatment and time needed to rehab. As someone who has gone through this I can't see him being really involved in coaching this year. For all intents they will prolbably be a team run by assistants as far as day to day operations go and Bonomago may be able to get on the sidelines on game day.

On a positive note this and Nash's passing could be inspiring. On the flip side not having anyone in charge could result in problems within the organization.

It's no secret that I'm not a fan of their program, but I don't want them to crash and burn because of their coach having life threatening health issues.

Suffice to say the uncertainty of their coaching situation will make it difficult to recruit and might explain their limited progress in this years recruiting.

I hope he gets through this and can be an effective coach. I'd take no solace from seeing their demise do to these circumstances.

RE: Bono health issue
As we all know - Cancer is a horrible, insidious disease.

Bonamego played at Paw Paw when I was coach at Otsego. One of my former players, who is like a son to me, has been friends with him since then.

This far transcends a rivalry of any kind.

All prayers for his successful return to good health, his family, and his team.

If what I've read is correct, doctors are still optimistic that they caught this early enough, and his prognosis is still good. Bono made MAC media day when most thought that wouldn't be possible, so he may well surprise everyone. However, it is probably still a good thing that he kept a core of the previous staff to help him run things. As you say, he may have a short supply of energy for a while. Thanks for the kind thoughts.

Well said, Dip. We want to beat CMU on the field, but not in this way. I hope the treatment works out well for Coach Bono.

04-cheers

Hoping for the best. Cancer has affected (and taken) people close to me. Rivalry be damned, let's hope he beats this.

Does anyone know of a good CMU board? Maybe an oxymoron but the one here is never really used and it is not easy in my area of the state to get news about them.

RE: Bono health issue
Coach Bono needs a new nickname. I thought this was about the guy from U2 at first.
