Those look great with the purple #'s! Like this all around though I'll pretty much like anything if we stick with the purple lids! (and hopefully stay away from gold tops for a while)

I have long advocated this to set us apart from wordy names, initialed abbreviations and directionals. Rather sound like Stanford, Vanderbilt, Duke, Clemson, Purdue, Baylor, Rice & Harvard than FAU/FIU, EMU, GMU, BGSU, Weber State University, Stephen F Austin U, Bob Jones University etc. Flagship universities also have a one word identity. Single word association to me carries more prestige. We can phase it in like Datsun to Nissan.

Though we might not be the equal yet of a lot of these schools, sometimes it's not what you are, but rather what people think you are. If we are trying to position ourselves as a national university, perhaps a subtle name shift would help. Anyway, my 17 cents on the matter.

Appreciate the efforts on the uniforms/ locker rooms to make us more big time. People will notice this and see our program as top level, even while we are still trying to figure out how to get there.

I really, really like the away jersey/pants combo. Looks fantastic with the purple helmet.
I wasn't a big fan of the faded stripe on the sleeve at first, but I'm really starting to warm up to it- looks very cool.

I believe Charlotte unis had same stripe last year

Love the away look. No need for different uni combos when you have something that looks this good

As far as "Branding" goes, how will the old helmets coincide with this?

I've referred to our school as Madison for z very long time, same with other alum and friends.

I like the uniforms and gold helmets work well with all purple. Don't take this as though I don't like the purple helmets, they just need to be with white or purple jerseys.

I did end up liking those purple uniforms on the field better than I did in that picture... I'm still not like "holy crap those are awesome" like I was with the purple helmets or last year's black unis, but I definitely like them.

I agree. The purple helmets look good but not more than twice a year or so. They look much better with the white road jerseys or gold but I don't even know if we have gold this year. The gold helmet is still the best. I wish we'd change back to the purple "JMU". It looks so much better than this current look. Quit trying to be cute.
