Even though Coach Clark AND Hatton Smith sent you a letter asking for your first payment by 9/1? I don't follow.

BTW I have not received that letter. (Probably because I firmed up my payment plan in stone with UAB about three weeks ago)

I didn't get the letter either. I assume that's because I made my first year's payment already.

I got the letter after I had mailed my payment, but I assume before they processed it. I also received another letter stating my donation had been received an processed.

Do you have to mail a check or can you call in and pay by credit card?

I suspect they will take it any way they can get it. Better to give Brad a call first just to get the mechanics worked out.

Both. I believe if you go to the annual giving website, it will allow credit cards.

This is possible, because attached at the bottom of mine was an invoice for my first payment.

Yeah, I gave my card over the phone to the athletic department for my 5-Year Football Pledge Payment. 5% cashback on it with a credit card payment.

Wanna make my payment for me too?? Ill give you a check for the donation and I'll let you keep 2.5% of the cash back. Now that's a win-win if you ask me.

Standard deduction. I thought the 5-Year Football Pledge would count toward Blazer Booster membership. I pretty much tapped myself out on that pledge so I'm hoping to accrue enough cash back on my credit card to meet the $100 minimum before the end of the year so I can keep my priority points.

I meant for BlazrDawg. I AM NOT A CPA but I'm pretty sure you can count a donation you made by credit card still against your taxes. But what would have been the tax implications if BlazrDawg let you make his donation for him via your credit card? Technically you would have been the one donating to UAB not him.

Making my 1st year payment in September 2015, just might not be on the 1st. Had it originally scheduled for Jan 1 . 2016.

RE: Campain for UAB pledges
Had my initial pledge of X amount per quarter budgeted beginning in 2016 (as stated on my pledge agreement). However, I received the invoice/letter just as everyone else here did asking for the first year payment by 9/1/2015. It pissed me off a little, but after seeing FRW bullying the city over their pledge, I went ahead with my first year payment today. Hey, it may only buy a few helmets, but at least I kept my promise. It just sucks (and could be coincidental) that they are asking for the pledges to be paid at the deadline of donations for BB season tickets as well. Its almost like they're trying to make it harder to pay, or make us choose between our previously set donations and the pledges. It could be worse I guess, they could have made them due on 12/25. 04-jawdrop

I thought the pledge counted toward Blazer Club too. When the original - not "official" - pledge forms came out, everyone was saying give all you can so football will return. I asked about Blazer Club and someone said "just do it and you can hash that out later". Now it looks like Blazer Club wants the same amount now as my "official" pledge was for! I can't afford to send a new car payment to UAB each month for the next five years with two kids in college. I'll talk to Brad tomorrow about it. +++++ I will honor the pledge! +++++ Just hope I can keep Blazer Club.
