Clarity for UC
Hey guys being fairly new (as in this is my first ever post) go easy on me.

As a University of Cincinnati alum, fan, and active supporter, there is a key element that's missed when determining "worthy" candidates for expansion. I won't go into other schools because I know little to none about them. However, the sticking point for me, when I first arrived at UC in 2005, the football program was really just taking on a new personality, and frankly anyone that attended UC prior to 2000 was not attached to the football program due to its total irrelevance. That being said, since 2005 the program blew up exponentially. What does this translate to? Year after year students are retaining interest in the football program even after completing their degree programs...which equals season ticket sale increases year after year... and so on.

So if the Big 12 is looking for a short term fix, UC is not the answer. But if the Big 12 is searching long term, well then Cincinnati is great place to start. We'll never be Ohio State, but frankly, 98% of schools will never be Ohio State, or Texas, etc... This program has done more, accomplished more, and put more resources into it the past 10 years than they have in its entire history.

Just my sales pitch, my 2 cents, don't kill me.

Can't disagree with that. Cincy and Uconn are the two programs that ultimately find themselves in purgatory. Not quite P5 material, but much bigger than a mid major. Tough spot to be at this point.

There's geographic logic to UC if the Big 12 were to expand. If that ends up happening, it's a shame we wouldn't also have taken Louisville when we had the chance in order to make a triumvirate of WVU, UC, and UL.

I think it was cool when we played at GAB before the Reds. Being a Pro town, I think UC needs to be embraced by the Pro Teams and fans. Weave into that the little brother of Ohio State angle and UC can be a player. Great location and tough team. Hope to play y'all soon. In conference or out of conference.

RE: Clarity for UC
Cincinnati should be the #11 school in the Big 12.
Cincy has everything the conference needs when compared to many of the other schools that are constantly listed.

1. Location.
Cincy is in the perfect spot....located between WVU and the main body. Which keeps travel costs low.
2. Exposure to P5 schools.
Cincy has played plenty of P5 schools in the past...and are located in the heart of P5 country. This shows they have history with this level of play...and can be attractive to other P5 conferences for OOC because of their location.
3. Academics.
Cincy is a solid research institute and compares well with Tech, K-St, OU, OSU, ISU and Texas in research. I'm not certain of WVU's status in this area...so they could be added too??
4. Recruiting.
The Ohio valley area is a perfect recruiting ground for ISU, KU, K-St, OSU, and OU...because it adds new territory that connects well for these schools existing territory.
5. City amenities.
Cincy is, of course, a major airline hub that houses plenty of hotels, restaurants, media outlets, population, travel possibilities(train, plane, boat, car) from all directions, fan base, entertainment for visiting fans, and exposure to two other states(Indiana and Kentucky).

There is no reason to wait on Cincy. Much like what the B1G did with Penn St....the Big 12 should add Cincy and go to 11 schools....until #12 can be decided upon.

Thanks to UC for making the decision so easy. Welcome to the Big 12(I hope).

A great selling point for Cincinnati to use. In Ohio, They absolutely sit at the Crossroads of the SEC, ACC and B1G and Big 12. Not many others can literally say that !
Oh B1G
Pa B1G, ACC
Ky SEC, ACC
Ind B1G, ACC(non Football)

BYU will probably be left out due to their proximity to schools like WVU, Cinci and Memphis would be the best to add
