A decade ago, Jeb Bush was writing letters of support to the swiftboaters who were standing up against John Kerry. Three days ago, Bush tweets (in response to Trump) "Enough with the slanderous attacks. @SenJohnMcCain and all our veterans - particularly POWs have earned our respect and admiration."

Misrepresenting the war time contributions of veterans in order to gain political advantage on the other hand is about as low as it gets. Kerry regardless of whether you like his politics or not was wounded three times and on at least two occasions took actions that saved lives in Vietnam. Those Swiftboaters are scum.

There is no excuse for their actions. They are/were grown men that could think for themselves. They knew exactly what they were doing and why they were doing it. Ten men served under Kerry during his time on swiftboats and nine of them back Kerry's and the military's recounting of events. One was a part of the swiftboaters attacks. I'll stick to calling them scum.

Yeah, Kerry served with honor and those with him stated as much, whereas those criticizing him did not serve with him. As genius of a political move it was to put him on the defensive, taking any wind out of the sails in any attack he'd levy against W serving his time in the Air National Guard, it was a bullsh*t move that anyone with a sense of morality should be abhorred with.



That was at the Republican National Convention less than 11 years ago, this happened.

So to defend a lying scum fuckwads service record, you all are going to trash and call other service men scum. That's special.
