Games @ NC State and @ UVA... I like when we play more local opponents OOC, as opposed to teams like Florida.

Trevor Lacey left for pros, Ralston Turner graduated, so two leading scorers gone from Sweet 16 team. 757's Cat Barber back, as well as, one time Tribe recruit Terry Henderson now eligible after transferring. PF Abdul-Malik Abu played with Oliver Tot at Kimball. This is a winnable and RPI bump game for us to catch them early.
I don't place UVA in the winnable category.
I agree, nice to have games in travel distance.

Not unless they mistake our green uniforms for Michigan State...

I'm wondering if this NC State game is part of one of those tourneys that follow with a group of other mid majors?

No, the Wolfpack are playing in the Legends Classic this year (along with ASU, LSU, Marquette and four others - finals at the Barclay Center), starting on the 15th, but the Tribe game (on the 13th) is sort of a warmup for them, if you will, before the tournament begins. W&M is not a part of the tourney.

It would be nice if we could schedule a game at Georgetown this year -- great for NoVa and D.C. alumni.
(Plus, I happened to win tickets to a G-town game this upcoming season ... )

Or Maryland, or GW, or George Mason, or maybe even American. GT would be awesome

High Point site confirmed return game in Williamsburg this year. Senior PF John Brown will be a nice draw. No date given.

That game will be a sell-out for sure. ODU fans will be out in force. We will need strong support from W&M students to counter ODU fan support.

OOC so far:
Home: ODU, High Point, Mary Washington
Away: NC State, Howard, Virginia
That should leave 5 more games.

We might be able to sneak up on these guys, the Wolfpack. Stranger things have happened. Not sure as to whether Coach Gottleib still has Coach Harrick in the wings. Two UCLA guys from the past.

Lots of room for upgrades to what appears to be a lackluster schedule. These games must have been set up; let's hear about them.

One mans lackluster can be another guy's 'just fine'. That's what makes a horse race. Scheduling is complicated. Lots of intervening variables. I like the UVA game. Since the Maryland game some of these guys probably stay away from us. I'd like to see the Tribe in Philly or New York. Lots of teams there.
My local team, UCI, gave Hamden Sydney a game last year. Lots of empty seats. Will Chk attendance for the struggles vs Howard and Mary Washington. Should help with the diversity crowd.

There are a lot of NY area alums and a new alum affiliation of the Princeton Club in NYC, so a game in NYC could certainly be made into a part of some event. Again, we really should try to schedule vs Fordham...in both Bball and Fball.

RE: '15-'16 Men's Basketball Schedule
For better or worse, the Hofstra game somewhat fills the NYC role each year.
Good to see OOC close by for lower costs, less time away from class, and larger traveling fan base, but the other factor is to, also, increase the Tribe visibility in those regions where our recruiting is active. Consequently, there is the need to get some OOC outside the home region.
Hofstra fills the close by home role game for Terry. Would expect we'd have another game somewhere in the Michigan area for Sean, as the other senior. Just as I'd expect next year we'll see OOC games in Kentucky and DC. Also, can't imagine we would have played that Rice game last year, just as a favor to Mike Rhoades, without a return game commitment to the 'Burg, possibly paired with their conference game at ODU.
