Surprised no one has mentioned this yet since it was announced this morning. He's getting a nice new gig - executive director of the College Football Playoff Committee. Hopefully the conference hires a solid replacement.

This isn't good news. I've always felt that Banowsky did a great job with the hand he was dealt. He kept our bowl tie-ins respectable and stabilized the conference after the last wave of realignment. I'm particularly worried about the timing, with the new TV deal being negotiated. I was confident he could get us a good contract. Who knows though, maybe a new face and a fresh perspective would be good for the conference. On the conference board, Chris DelConte's name is being thrown out there. Any chance we could grab him or Oliver Luck?

CDC is on the way up as an AD so I see zero chance he would want the job. Luck on the other hand might be interested if nothing more than as a holding spot until Texas comes crawling back to have him replace Patterson.

I'd say Luck is far more likely than CDC.

Unless someone like that replaces Banowsky, it will be a step down for the conference. Not exactly what we need at this point.

Britton has to do what is best for Britton. He's been an excellent commissioner, but this looks like an excellent opportunity for him.

I think BoKnows has a joint venture with Greenspan involving sports intelligence. That probably disqualifies him from being commissioner -- conflict or disinterest or something.
