What is the point of this? Seems like a waste. Another ID that serves no function but to get get discounts from places. Sigh... How bout instead of this, they fix the VA.

Actually thought received a document that glanced over and filed that said it was replacing the DD-214. Is this a bad memory on my part. Think it was in the last few years.

A card replacing your 214? Um no, this article specifically says a DD214 is still required to verify your service (for employment, benefits, etc.) Military retired ID is still required for MWR access, and the other VA ID is required for medical care. This is just to cary around to get discounts, which is such a sad waste.
