Interesting article about millenials and helicopter parents.

RE: Should You Bring Mom and Dad to the Office?
Our country is really screwed.

I did have a mother call in sick for her special snowflake right before I retired. I probably would have bought her story if it wasn't for the fact I had picked up his fellow backseater because his truck was in the shop and he lived near me. On our way in (We always got there 30 minutes early so we could cover calls for the off-going shift) he was surfing Facebook on his phone and saw where kiddo had been out partying the night before. Sucks to be on probation in that situation.

I'm hesitant to believe in any management trend.

I honestly feel that its more about the sheer boredom/loneliness of the Boomers. Most of them are divorced and aren't in LTR, and their children haven't given them any grandkids yet. I have to fend off my mother's requests to join me on business travel all the time.

My mom never pulled any of this crap with me, but she is with my brother, who is 10 year younger.

I'd be embarrassed if my parents ever did anything like that.

Thankfully, my parents would have absolutely no desire to do this and if I asked them to I imagine they would look at me like I had a dick growing out of my forehead.

I think my mother has been in my officer, here in Montgomery, maybe two times.

I wouldn't want my parents around.

Very common in Italy...hell, most boys live at home into their 30s...you don't move out til you have a wife to replace 'momma'

Could that be for different cultural reasons though? My brother in law is 42, has a wife and three kids and still lives with his mom. It's a cultural thing where he's from though, not a "helicopter" parent thing, etc.

DeAndre Jordan's mom has apparently apologized for her son's questionable business acumen
