Earth to Staunch Southern Conservatives:

Just because a person is to the left of Ronald Reagan, it doesn't mean he or she condones any of the following, in fact they are repudiated!

Louis Farrakhan (we need to send him to investigate Ceres).

Banning "Gone with the Wind" (it's in my collection).

Destroying Statues (no; it's a part of history and the history needs to be told).

Marrying animals, inanimate objects, or other body parts (for tax purposes, can one claim their hand as a spouse?)

Unsweet Tea (make mine an Arnold Palmer, though, and hold the sugar).

Those were among the subjects (except the last one, which was in jest) that were posted on this board over the past 48 hours, many with insinuations aimed at those who disagreed with them over current events.

No, I was not doing Drano
No, I was not drunk or even had a single drink.

But I did overdose. Overdosed on reading the venom spewed on this site over this past week.

Thanks for the clarification. I was thinking about suggesting you get some professional help. 03-lmfao

Don't read it. It's being proved that it's bad for YOUR health.

The whole "sweet tea" thing is greatly overblown. I'm tired of people trying to make me feel guilty for using splenda to sweeten my tea and I'll post right here and now that I'm not ashamed and I'm no less Southern for doing so........I'm also about 20 lbs lighter than I would be otherwise.

Been using Splenda for over a decade. I can't remember the last time I actually used sugar in anything other than to "sweeten" a pot of stew.

We use Splenda in everything requiring sugar. My wife's cookies taste much better with it and I don't feel guilty when I eat 'em.

Just so we're clear, that was either drinking or chugging Drano.

Splenda is associated with weight gain. Not the same thing.

People who sleep also gain more weight than those who don't.

Tea out of state is tough if your are a Texan. A lot of us drink it straight. In the Deep South you have to specifically request it unsweetened and then remind them when they refill. And sometimes they still don't get it right. In the northeast, usually the best you can do is nasty stuff from a carton with a bunch of sugar and more lemon than sugar.

Saddens me when I see a glass of tea or cup of coffee ruined with sugar. Abomination.
