Ivan Pace
Anthony Booker
Jonathan Allen/Josiah Ezirim
Tre'Von Morgan/Devon Fox

+ any transfers or kids who decommit with coaches getting fired/leaving

I wonder, but it seems like, Pace, is smallish for what this staff is looking for at LB. Especially ILB.

My wishlist would be:
A. Booker
Jonathan Allen
Jamir Thomas
Tre Morgan
John Bivens

Agree. Won’t be to worried if we don’t land booker but would be a great local guy.

In order for me.
1) Jonathon Allen
2) Jamir Thomas-Unfortunately dropped to cool
3) John Bivens
4) Tre Morgan or Donivan Wright or Devon Fox
5) Anthony Booker

Lineman recruits:

Adam ElGammal - 6'7" 260 (his Twitter and Rivals have him at 6'7")
Marcello Mendiola - 6'5" 285
Jimi McAdams - 6'4" 295
Savion Herring - 6'6" 285

These are some damn big kids...

Jump to next year, Gavin Gerhardt - 6'4" 290.

Love that we're focusing on OL...that's a position group we sorely need depth on.

Looks like some kids have been re-evaluated, which has led to our class ranking to change. Most notable, Eric Philips. We're up to an avg rating of .8275

I would like to keep that South Florida and Georgia pipeline going, but I am not sure if we have any coaches with real connection down there like we did on previous staffs. Seems to me that we have replaced Florida/Georgia with the Chicago area.

Joker is the only one with any significant SE ties, and he seems to be focusing on GA and VA more than the lower swamp.

I expect we'll pick up a WR or two before signing day, and odds are one will come from GA or FL.

Can someone help me understand how Michigan has 26 players committed and are still in the running for several other recruits to cap their recruiting class? Are they back dating and front dating? I just don't get it.

Their 2017 class had 34 guys! How is that possible?

Michigan had 11 early enrollees in 2017 (in 2017 Bama had 12, Oklahoma 11, O$U 9), usually they have between 3-7 early enrollees under Harbaugh but some years more to balance classes / NFL draft early entrants. 1-2 of the currently 26 committed kids are likely not going to be in the 2019 class and Michigan is still on 4-5 high major targets.

The commitment numbers are fluid and change. For Michigan's CO 2017 at least five were walk ons. (The last five on 24/7 with low or no ratings). One was a P. Another was a WR who flipped from Columbia!

Coach Fick is as creative a coach as other coaches. Three important Bearcats from CO 2018 didn't show up (or sign with UC) until about Aug 8, 2018: Grad transfers LT Boyd, LB Bere and CB Cam Jefferies. Bere might play again in 2019 and Jefferies has two years to play one year starting in 2019. Cam Jefferies is so fast he graduated from Bowling Green in two years. Heck, with three years at UC, he might get a Ph.D.

In UCs Class of 2018, five players decommtted, three in late Nov and Dec 2017. Four are originally from Georgia. One flipped to GaTech, but the others are at Georgia State, Charlotte, and ULouisiana Ragin Cajuns.
The longer we Bearcat fans wait, the higher the 2019 commits's ratings will be for UC, as in 2017 and 2018.

I'm hoping for Mich Class of 2017 James Hudson, friend of Truck Warren to be a Bearcat. He's a good DT and a better RT. The Cats are doing amazing recruiting in SW Ohio, Ohio, and Chicago. The Bearcats have a formula for recruiting and it works.

RE: Football Class of 2019
Despite an offer from UC earlier this week, Michigan's Mr. Football, QB Dequan Finn, just announced he's flipping to Toledo from CMU after their coaching change. Toledo having recruited him the entire time seemed to make all the difference. I don't know if we've moved on or are going to try for a 2nd flip from him.

Detroit King's Dequan Finn flips to Toledo after Central Michigan firing

I'm guessing we'd have a good shot at flipping him if we got him in for a visit, although we're probably not the best spot for a QB prioritizing ha clear shot at early playing time.

Tremendous pickup! He may become the most athletic lineman we have once he arrives on campus. Our OL has gotten some serious attention from this staff.
