RE: Football Class of 2019
The staff has also picked up two local preferred walk-ons in Moeller DE/OLB Ryan Mullaney and Colerain RB JJ Davis.

Mullaney finished the year with 13 sacks and 19 TFL. Those are some serious numbers considering the schedule Moeller plays.

Davis is small but was Colerain's home run hitter. I doubt he sticks at RB but may be able to work in the slot. The kid has some serious speed.

Who knows when/if either will contribute, but nevertheless it can't hurt having two more local kids.

Did Davis run back kicks or punts at Colerain? I'd love to see some speed and elusiveness on the special teams.

So are there any interesting grad transfer names on this list that could be a fit for the Bearcats? I know we are looking for an outside WR to replace Lewis.

Imho, Booker was not a big loss. Father was waaaaaayyyy too involved in recruiting. Plus, he's got a little Lavar Ball in him.

Just browsing the list I really don't see any at WR at this point. There are a lot of OL on that list. I'm sure UC is doing their due diligence on any of those guys. I could definitely see them taking another OL, especially with how well Boyd worked out last year.

What in the world is going on at VT...

Starting QB is gone
#1 WR is gone
Supposed #1 RB is gone
#1 TE remaining on depth chart is gone
#1 DLman is gone

They had 6 transfers last year and had their worst record in two and half decades.

Any signing day news? Doesn't look like Allen has sent in his papers yet.

Couple things from what I gather from reading VT boards:

1. Beamer players not buying into Fuente's way of doing things.
2. An issue all over the country, transferring out has gotten easier as NCAA has liberalized hardship waiver rulings.

#1 is a big issue and from their boards it looks like the fans are not too keen on Fuente either. I don't see his tenure lasting more than another 1-2 years in Blacksburg. As the old adage goes, its better to be the guy following the guy who replaced the legend, as opposed to being the guy who followed the legend.

I wonder if this will be Bud Foster's opportunity to take over. Sounds like he's been reluctant to do so but maybe this is when he will.

Maybe in an interim role for a short time, but I would be stunned if he is ever VT's head coach or anywhere for that matter. I think he even realizes he couldn't handle it.

I don't put much stock in the "crystal ball" reports but has there been a sense that Allen was leaning toward the Bearcats? He would appear to be an excellent prospect in an area of need.

Love that they were each team leaders at local power programs, and that each had FCS scholarship offers.

That's huge...first highly established OL prospect we've signed straight out of high school in awhile.

His profile is very impressive--his offer list was too. Congratulations to CLF and the coaching staff.

I'm guessing most all OL signees redshirt; will he?

Barring a bevy of injuries I say yes. We have a lot of depth thanks to the staff's recruitment the past couple years. Keep in mind now with the new rules we can play these kids up to 4 games and still redshirt them.

I love that rule. And I love that - for the first time in a handful of years - I feel good about our pipeline on the OL.
