Post Bahama trip player evaluations....
Hi guys,
I'm extremely busy with my new job and family responsibilities these days. Hope y'all are having a great summer. I'm soooooo! glad that Coastguard has taken the reigns and is controlling this ship. He's been outstanding and understands how to keep things under control. Trust me, you are in good hands.

Now...my player evaluations.

Talley- really good PG period. A true leader and ball handler that understands the game very well. Great at initiated half court sets, passing, defending and a player you have to guard. His shot presentation has improved. Great PG.

Ponder-Very good combo guard that can drive the ball and can stick the 3 ball well. Good on ball defender and has great heart...makes big shots.

Flemmings- good 3 man. Athletic 3 man that defends well and is always on the move. Very good finisher on the break, gets loose balls and can stick open 3's with some range. Generally knows his limitations regarding over dribbling and takes a more direct route. Great addition.

Sherwood-Long 4 man that is a good top of the key outlet against a zone and a good pick and pop guy. We/he is looking to get more boards this year to get stick backs and must be able to stick that elbow J. Must embrace the defensive end in half court sets. Good trapper in press situations and runs well.

Ogbodo-When motivated is a terror to deal with. Can board and block shots with the best of them when on his game and I mean the best of them. Consistent mental focus is his key. He's an underrated offensive player as well as he can score on the blocks and hit FT's.

Bryce-Nice player with very good athleticism. Showed his versatility well. Can play multiple positions and can drive the ball well going right and sees the court well to make plays for others. Good 3 ball with good lift and timing. He will have to learn to value the ball in time and work on his left but is without question a tremendously talented player.

Grundy- Long athletic player that rebounds well and defends with his length. Good 4 man for an uptempo team as he runs well and can finish. Will have to gain a little weight over the years to be the best 4 man he can be or improve handles to be a legit 3 man. Still, another great talent for a freshman.

Matthews- Very good all around player that is always on the move. He seems to always be in the right place at the right time, especially on the offensive end. A truly gifted scorer of the ball in this system. He has a terrific 3 ball stoke and must be guarded. He uses his length to defend quicker, smaller players. He can improve his handles but is a guy that will play minutes and have a good PER.

Cacok- Athletic PF that plays well in this system. He's a bit raw but can board out of position and knows where his bread is buttered. Another talented recruit that plays well in the open court system.

Ingram-Quick combo guard that has a knack to score. Must improve his handles and decision making to play significant PG minutes. Will play because he knows how to score and you can see him getting hot. Must value his minutes to garner more.

Bryan-Impressed me more than I first thought. He brings his lunch pale and has some girth. Tough player in the hole and boards the ball. Can stick the mid range shot. Must value the left hand finish against top flight players or get it blocked on stick backs. Still, overall his stock improved down there as evidenced by his board #'s and setting good screens.

Hickson-Continued his improvement from last year. Plays hard and can do some things offensively as well if given the chance. Hustles, draws charges and mixes it up well for his frame.

Powell- Has demonstrated that he can knock down shots. Knows his role.

Haywood-We all know his capabilities. He can be an All CAA type of guy and may be. It's up to him at this point to get in good favor, regardless of circumstances and play in the 2nd semester.

Gettys-A true big. Hopefully will stay in shape and be an efforcer this year.

There you have it. There's a lifetime to go before the season, but we know some things now. These guys REALLY play HARD overall and hustle hard for loose balls-I love that!
