New Facilities on the Horizon
"We're extremely pleased to have the athletics chapter put into the University's master plan," said Rutgers athletic director Julie Hermann. "This gives us an opportunity to take that great framework as a vision for us to go out to our donor base and start working and drilling down and getting it done."

Hermann said the multi-purpose basketball practice facility and the Hale Center renovation plans are "both priorities." Both will be financed through fundraising, she added.

"This is front burner for us. It's been front burner since I got here," Hermann said. "We needed to be in full alignment to get it done, so it has taken us these 20-plus months to get alignment. And we have it. We're fully aligned.

"Now it's our chance to go out and get out donors fully aligned about what we can get done. So it's front burner. It's urgent. I couldn't give you a time line today because it may go so much faster than we think or it could take longer. For me I don't have a timeline or a deadline. I just have a sprint."
