COA is a slippery slope to be sure. The other issue is its not even equal across the board, and is highly suspect to shenanigans. Lastly, COA is still just a drop in the bucket compared to what a lot of top athletes are getting under the table. And it does happen at CUSA level schools too. I know a guy who played BASKETBALL for Marshall and he says when he was there in the 80s $100 post game handshakes etc were expected. And thats Marshall... basketball. I almost hope this does go on for our guys too just so we are able to compete since everyone else is doing it too. I just would rather be ignorantly blissful and keep believing the Monarchs are above all that type of stuff.
But yes, it has to be done, to the max, if we wish to compete.

And now he's forgoing his senior year of high school and joining South Carolina for the 2016 season. Risky move, given that SC has a pretty decent crop of QBs in or incoming:
ODU offers 54th ranked running back of 2017. Offered by Bobby Wilder and he seems to have enjoyed his visit. Would be a great get; seems like the total package.
Here is his junior year Hudl video. From the very first play, you can tell that he has a major league arm. He is a lefty and in many ways reminds me of Michael Vick. I am impressed with how he looked as a junior.
I think for now I'll put this one squarely in the "committed, maybe" category. Possible interest from UVA, N C State and Temple. Also, why do they have his commit date 6/18/16? I have to believe this is his insurance commit.
After watching his highlights, I'd really like to land his receiver, #2 in highlights.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but Williams throws a really pretty long ball, doesn't he?

He reminds me more of David Washington honestly. Really good at the long ball and scramble, but doesn't seem to have the zip on the short game. I could see him also going the DW route of switching to WR at somepoint.

I don't think so. I see this guy as a future stud QB for the Monarchs.

Not this BS again... He is a QUARTERBACK!!!
It's not unheard of to have a QB become a WR in college. This dude's fast and probably has some good hands. I think it's a legitimate possibility, depending on our QB situation when he gets in.

Here's a nice little article on Williams by HM. Evidently he is our number one QB recruit for '17, and he committed while here for the football camp. He says his commitment is strong and he doesn't see himself changing his mind. I look forward to seeing this young man slinging the ball around the new FFASBBS.
I just watched his sophomore video. Here it is. Lordy, and this was his sophomore year! I hope we keep this guy. I am convinced right now that he will lead this team to a conference championship or two. Remember -- you read it here.
