Good point on the number of teams helping to boost the conference records of the teams at the top, in theory.

Personally, I don't think CCG's make any sense for lower end G5 that just don't get the ratings. They should be full round-robin leagues.

There is no data to support either way if a CCG would hurt or help Sun Belt Conference.

It's because of Jamey Chadwell, who is an ETSU grad and former assistant coach took them over.

Wichita State adding and looking to an FBS conference.
Texas Wesleyan University will have 2017 as a red-shirt year and 2018 would be their first year.

Robert Morris-Peoria looks like they are making their club to be a varsity team for the USCAA for this year. Robert Morris, Illinois have a membership in both the NAIA and USCAA. Look for Robert Morris-Peoria to join the NAIA ranks soon.

ASA-Miami 2015 JUCO
East Tennessee State 2015 FCS
Finlandia 2015 D3
Kennesaw State 2015 FCS
Lyon 2015 NAIA Last team was when they were known as Arkansas College.
College of Faith-West Memphis 2015 ASCAA Not a countable game.
Redemption Christian College 2015 ASCAA Not a countable game.
Central International 2015 ASCAA Not a countable game.
University of God's Chosen Disciples 2015 ASCAA Not a countable game.
Texas A&T 2015 JUCO
UAB 2016 FBS
Cincinnati Christian 2016 NAIA
Davenport U. 2016 NAIA
Morthland 2016 USCAA
Texas-Permian Basin 2016 D2
West Florida 2016 D2
University of New England-Maine 2017 D3
Clarke U., Iowa 2018 NAIA

Unknown status so far.
University of Faith-Oklahoma supposed to start this year, but the website went down, and no new news on them. ASCAA
Amerivets United Career College in Tulsa 2015, but sports got dropped when heat started on them. They have a campus in Chicago and Indianapolis. That would make them three schools that could have football. ASCAA
College of Faith-Texas Coming soon. ASCAA
College of Faith-Louisiana coming soon. ASCAA
Robert Morris-Peoria USCAA Could turn their club team to a varsity.
Middle Georgia State NAIA Listed as a future varsity football team after being accepted into the NAIA. They play at the club level and was formally the club team of Macon State.
New Orleans FCS Was supposed to start this fall, but it was put on hold for a bit. Do not know when they will begin.
Coppin State FCS MEAC Was supposed to turned the club team into a varsity team. Appalachian State was a former club team that went varsity. The first year target was this year.
High Point FCS After going after some buildings for a medical school stuff and all that, they will add football and build up their facilities. They do play football at the club level. Start date is yet to be determined.
Le Moyne-Owen D2 HBCU school in Tennessee was supposed to start football back in 2012. There was no news why they did not start or the delay was.
Indiana Wesleyan NAIA Got the feasibility study back last month, and football can be a go to be added as a sport. It is the next step for the sport to be added.
Mount Mercy Iowa NAIA Was accepted to join join Heart of America Conference for 2016-17 school year. As it is all football conference, Mount Mercy have to add football by 2018 season. No word yet that they added football.

Now which schools in D1 or D2 could add football between now and 2020? There are a lot of schools rumored or talked about adding the sport from coast to coast.

DavidSt: LSU is closer to shutting down its football program than New Orleans and College Of Faith Louisiana are to moving up.....this could be your best troll post or most insane, so I'm positive repping you for this. You are at whole other level. Cheers!

That seems to be an absolute requirement for the Southland now. UNO and Texas A&M CC had said they would add football, but havent.

That's interesting. Maybe the WAC is starting to head towards being a FCS conference. Southland is too crowded. WAC perhaps get some Big Sky schools down the road or a Southland split?

As stated before, think N Ariz, S Utah, Weber St, Idaho St and N Colo are heading for the WAC when the Big Sky goes FBS. But that's preposterous according to this board.

The Southland LA FCS schools, SELa, Nicholls St, McNeese St, and NWSt, all have some viability problems pending the LA budget deal. UTRGV has a great chance of being in the Southland now, and football would seal it.

The article referenced FBS. Doubt that UTRGV would take it there in the short term. But the long view is that with 50k students projected, FBS has to be considered.

I don't know why the article reference FBS because that isn't possible without a conference invite. The writer may had hoped for FBS but FCS is the plan for UTRGV and they have a new soccer complex that can serve for football also, if desired but with the new 52 acres they bought, they can certainly build a nice stadium that fits for them with the setup for future expansion.
They could be another Sunbelt target and with UTRGV now having a Med School would add to the academic profile of the Sun Belt.

This is the former UTPA and they're a WAC member nowadays. Would football get them into the Southland, which currently has 13 all-sports members and 11 football members?

No. Unless the conference wants to split into 2 conferences.

Well, good to Caldwell College in New Jersey to start Sprint football starting 2017 season. Sprint football is for smaller guys who can't get onto a regular football team with a weight limit.
