Mercer is already in Southern, and they are so close by to each other. Not sure they will get the invite.

SoCon is at a 9/10 alignment - no need to mess with that at the moment.

IPFW could have made a move to football when the minor league baseball team moved downtown and left a stadium across the street from Campus. This might be fun

RE: New College Football Teams 2015 to 2018/Who Could Be Next?
Northland CTC in the NJCAA will be starting football in 2015.

former NCAA D1 school Oklahoma City University is looking to readd football, and will try to move up from NAIA to D2 then to D1 again.

D3 Calvin College is looking into adding football.

Still no word from Mount Mercy, Iowa yet.

Belmont Abbey is looking at restarting football and move to D1. They would fit in Southern Conference.

Wisconsin-Milwaukee could be the next Wisconsin school at D1 to have football if they do get it.

Fullerton State, Long Beach State and North Ridge State are having students want football. The AD at Long Beach State said that they could add football and join the MWC for all sport.
Cal-Irvine AD said she is getting a lot of students asking for football.
The AD at Cal.-Riverside is also getting feedback for football.
FGCU said they will not add football at the time they reported it, but they could add it in the future.
Hartford recently added a club team. Could they turned their club team into a full fledge varsity team?
IUPUI might look into adding football.
Belmont and Lipscomb both mentioned that they might look into adding football.
North Florida announced that they will do a feasabilty study in adding football, but no report back on it. This was after Benson mentioned them on the list as one of the schools to be added into the Sun Belt.
UALR getting a lot of requests for them to start a football team.
UTA, not sure what they are doing right now.
Southern Illinois-Edwardsville does have a club team, but there is an interests that it could be turned into a varsity team in the future. Their website for the school with the Q&A from the President answered that question.
VCU we all have heard about.
Utah Valley, Grand Canyon U. both could add football and join the Big Sky.
Wichita State wants to find a way out of MVC, and looking to join the MWC. I have to say that all that they need to do is add football, and they are in.
Winthrop did a recent study, but have not announced the findings on adding football yet.
Lee University announced that they will not add the sport.
Montana State-Billings will not add football at this time.

New College Football Teams 2015 to 2018/Who Could Be Next?
This is an interesting list. I am surprised Kennesaw State has never had a football team before. I figured it was resurrecting a program that probably fell on hard times during the 1930s. I could see KSU make the leap to FBS eventually.

I'm glad to see West Florida gear up for football. The Gulf South Conference is still one of the top 2-3 conferences in the country, in my opinion, despite VSU losing its luster.

Mount Marty could add football in the future. They can not start it at present.

Montana State-Billings got their feasability back, and football is a no go.

The Big West could try to put together a non-scholarship FCS league to start:

UC Irvine
UC Riverside
Northridge State
Long Beach State
Fullerton State
San Diego (affiliate)

The Toreros can play their conference games in a bus league instead of an airplane league. The Big West could then transition to full-scholarship FCS at a pace it chooses-even if San Diego leaves it could then pick up its own members playing football in the Big Sky, UC Davis and Cal Poly.

SIUE and Belmont obviously would plug right in to their home conference. If they add football you wonder if Morehead State would add scholarships.

I think if Long Beach State restarts their football? They might get an invite to the MWC along with UTEP to go to 14. MWC could be proactive in case if they lose schools to P5 conferences.

Montana State-Billings recieve a pledge of 1 million dollars to restart football. So, footall could be coming back to Billings quicker if the donations keep coming in.

Sac State will want into this Big West FCS league, and it will be a good fit for Portland State as well.

They could invite Humboldt State, Azusa Pacific and East Bay State to join as well. 2 play football, and East Bay State have plans online for them to restart football. I think Portland State will stay with Big Sky.
Northern Arizona, Dixie State and Southern Utah could go with the Big West. Big Sky can take a number of schools from the GNAC and RMAC to refill their conference.

William Carey University, an NAIA school in Hattiesburg, MS, has had some rumblings about starting a football program. While I don't know any timetable they may have, there seems to be some momentum for it. They actually had a successful football team in the 50s, going 16-1 over their only two seasons.

There was a link to a news article about the AD talking about it, but you have to pay to read the article.

John Brown in Arkansas also mentioned that they may have to add football to keep up with the rest to get noticed.

RE: New College Football Teams 2015 to 2018/Who Could Be Next?
One of the more under-served college football markets is South Carolina. SC State is on the verge of non-existence. Wofford and Furman are small privates. Winthrop, College of Charleston, Charleston Southern, and USC Upstate have no team. The Citadel is the only game in town in Charleston but has the military restrictions. Coastal Carolina is the only game in town in the grand strand. Presbyterian is tiny and in BFE. I think USC Upstate would blossom just like Coastal Carolina did if they start up a program. And like the USC Upstate hoops team, they'd get the lions share of the largely overlooked I-85 corridor 5A high school talent, which is the life blood of the Clemson football program.
