At our level, the NCAA sometimes isn't as flexible as you might expect. Like, they did absolutely nothing to facilitate the CUSA-MWC merger. They took a by-the-book approach, e.g. no autobid to the men's basketball tourney year 1, big revenue sacrifices, etc. They really treat us like pricks. Some of it I understand- you can't bend the rules for some branch campus that doesn't generate any excitement. But the schools that were part of the CUSA-MWC merger propositions were legit brands (UH, Colorado State, etc.)

Instead of creating a new league, everyone join the other. Units earned by the dissolved league devolves to the members earning them which they contract to share with the league they joined. That's by the book.

The Sun Belt has some damn good football teams. They don't deserve your slur. Grow up just a little, would you?

I'm a bit surprised that there has been no press release. I know the UAB decision was pushed off until the Fall meetings (and, frankly, that makes sense to me since there is a fair amount of work that needs to be done to operationalize football, again, and present a transition proposal to the Conference) but there should have been other news. (Conference Championship sites, for example.)

When might we expect something?

Still waiting. At least they would let the president's know about the revenue that CUSA will get distributing. Waiting...to hear something back on that at least.

It's like the 'mound meeting' in Bull Durham' "we're discussing Big Things".

It looks like the release of next year's championships for all sports, dates and locations, is all we get this time. That is normally part of the release but this year it is the entire release.
