Jack Leggett......
Is stepping down or being let go as head baseball coach at Clemson. Word is Clemson is after Monte Lee (Charleston) to take his place. It would be a great move for Monte and Clemson in my book. Don't know how much it may hurt Charleston and the CAA with him gone.

That's interesting. As good as CoC is, and presents a threat to our CAA titles, I would hope if Lee goes it won't hurt their program going forward. The CAA needs a strong CoC baseball team, especially in terms of RPI for the conference and top teams within it.

RE: Jack Leggett......
Sounds like Clemson is a tough job, but a great one. They went to Omaha 6 times ('95, '96, 2000, '02, '06 and 2010) under Leggett and 12 times overall, and this was the first season since 2008 that they didn't reach a Regional. Leggett had made the Regionals in 20 of his 22 seasons. He's 61, so I have to assume that age rather than performance was the reason he was let go?

They made the regional this year at Fullerton. But, just like last year, they were two and done. The last five years have not been up to par. It's just time for a change. Leggett is still an icon.

RE: Jack Leggett......
I would imagine a combination of the age and most recent results.

It's not yet a done deal, but it looks like Monte Lee is the front runner for the Clemson job. And, if he gets it, the pitching coach will probably go with him.

Two and done at a place like Clemson with the resources they have doesn't work. Plus, with South Carolina winning two National Championships recently just increased the angst amongst Clemson fans.

It's a done deal. Monte Lee is the new Clemson coach. Will be taking pitching coach Matt Heath with him.

Heath is not going with Lee. He is now our Head coach. A very popular choice.

Oh, good deal. Talked with him at the CAA tourney. Looks to be a very good coach.

I am hearing your pitching coach may be going to Clemson. He played for Lee at Spartenberg

Good news for the Seahawks. Although a finalist for the job Williams is not leaving. Lee has hired the Duke pitching coach to go to Clemson
