President Watts Already Quoted in Article
It's already out there, prior to the Press Conference.

Sounds like, "You're getting football back, but no way in hell are you getting a stadium"

The University has to invest...plain and simple.

Takeaways:

UAB will not be involved with a stadium project, ever, with Watts as President.

UAB is reducing the funding for the athletics department by $200,000 (there was another lie)

the $10-12 million does not include a practice facility, only an outdoor artificial turf and new fieldhouse. Must be some fieldhouse they're planning.

Watts is sticking it to us every way he can. He's still got to go, and soon.

Not getting a stadium is not an option. But I don't expect Watts to be a factor in that decision anyway.

Really thought they would be a practice facility. Maybe the extra money Ingram is supposed to raise will go to that.

They specifically excluded the practice facility from that figure. I really cannot figure out what they're going to spend $12 million on

With the $30 million we have raised and the $10-14 million Ingram is going to be working towards, there has to be more to it than just new turf, coaches offices and a fieldhouse.

Somewhere something's gotten inflated or crossed.

Watts is quoted as saying $17.2m has been raised, which covers the operational deficit. On top of that 10% of the $10-14m has been raised which is for facilities. Those facilities being an outdoor practice field with turf and a new fieldhouse. A stadium is not on the table at all.

Well, we will have to put together a new contract for Clark and his staff. I'm not sure if that's been mentioned.

But we do need to make securing Coach Clark our top priority. I am thinking we need to give him the same contract we just gave Haase.

In the this new mutated game, we the fans will be be paying UAB for nonexistent scholarship costs. And PBJ will be laughing every year, as he has handicapped us with a shut down that will cost us 4 years on the field.

When Scarbinsky gave him the 03-nutkick , he backpedaled and then tried to claim that the cost of killing football would be absorbed into the $20mm/year subsidy. POS.

Either way, the donors are paying it. Every dollar of "subsidy" that goes towards paying for Watts' on-the-job training is a dollar that doesn't get spent on helmets or coaches' salary that has to be made up by donors. Watts may be an idiot, and may be dumb enough to think we're all idiots, but he's as transparent as a roll of scotch tape.

So what you are saying is that Ray Watts doesn't know anything about the cost of football facilities?
