Watts and the BOT have already proven they don't care about public outcry and scrutiny. Watts is protected by the BOT, the BOT can't be touched, so why would they?

You didn't have to type any of this. We all know how you feel every time something negative is possible. You'll be here tomorrow with an I told you so, or we won't hear from you for weeks because watts reinstating football doesn't help you with your message board persona.

I want to know the answer to this too. All of a sudden he is the one person anywhere getting any inside information.

Attalla seems to somewhat concur with what Kurre has been saying.

I'm telling you, this is a ploy to get the heat off of Watts ahead of a "no" tomorrow.

The heat will never come off him. If this is now about the bot blocking it, then he looks like a complete and utter idiot for making the decision when it was his choice. There is no way for watts to come back from what he did. At best he set our program back 5 years.

The BOT actually have nothing really to threaten Watts with. If he says no, he keeps his job for a little while longer while the BOT tries to find a UAT president(and Witt replacement?) and Watts continues to be the focal point for all things anti-UAB and be shunned by the UAB community; no mater what good he would ever do, he would go known as the man that killed UAB football/athletics/.... If he says yes, they can fire him(they'd have a pretty large NDA to be concerned about) but he would have a little, albeit temporary, breathing room until the ax actually falls(can't have two vacant presidencies at UAT and UAB) and some peace of mind and UAB can start the rebuilding process.

Kurre hasn't really done jack squat this entire time people have been fighting for UAB...and now he wants to come in at the 11th hour with some "UAB sources" so that he can still feel relevant in this fanbase. Like he was somehow involved.

If he's who Watts & Co. have chosen to use for the leaks...

I wouldn't be surprised at all if President Watts is at this point pushing hard to get it back. If he doesn't get it back, he's drawn his last peaceful breath and raised his last dollar as President of UAB.

I view this as a good development, and kind of the best possible outcome for UAB. The UAB community has clearly stepped, and even convinced Watts. If the BOT refuses to let the sports come back its a very clear, and public indication they don't have UAB's best interest at heart. There will be no more plausible deniability to hide behind. It will make the fight for board reform that much easier much easier than if Watts refused to bring the sports back.

If the sports are brought back I would like to think this will still server as an example of BOT interference, but truthfully most won't remember this.

I've been reading twitter. He's not exactly calling Kurre wrong. Plus IIRC he said something on here about us "having the votes" which seems to back up Kurre's statement that it's ultimately up to the BOT. But maybe I am misinterpreting him. I dunno.

And why not use Kurre to leak info? He's a name people know and is supposedly a UAB guy. He'd be as good for it as anyone else in town.

I don't know why anyone views Kurre as a legitimate source of information. He has been a complete non factor in this whole saga and like some others have said he has finally decided to insert himself into this drama to garner attention. With how far his head is up his *** it shouldn't surprise anyone that he is late to the party.

Technically it shouldn't be up to any of them, so if undue and inappropriate influence is being exerted, it's probably not coming from the whole board. It certainly won't be up for a "vote" by anyone.

Someone is obviously feeding him the info. I don't think he'd make this stuff up out of whole cloth. It all really depends on who his source is, and obviously he thinks they're credible. Whether they are or not we'll find out in the next 24 hours.
