Football APR Rankings 1 - 129 (AAC in Bold)
Believe this is the 2nd or 3rd year UCF Football finished in the Top 10 Public Univ Football Programs (18th overall).

APR 2009-2010 to 2013-2014

The Academic Progress Reports (APR), taking a look at classes from 2009-10 to 2013-14 have been released. Every Division I sports team calculates its APR each academic year based on the eligibility, retention and graduation of each scholarship student-athlete. Programs that score below 930 on their four-year rate, or 940 over the last two years, can be penalized in a variety of ways from practice restrictions to financial aid losses to coaching penalties to loss of postseason eligibility.

UCF football players more disciplined than those at a military academy. Gotta love GOL.

Biggest surprise is Tulsa. 04-jawdrop

RE: Football APR Rankings 1 - 129 (AAC in Bold)
Temple Leads The American in NCAA Academic Performance Rate

PHILADELPHIA - Out of the 11 schools in the American Athletic Conference, Temple University had the highest single-year academic performance rate (APR) in the league according to the NCAA data made public on Wednesday.

The Owls' 14 teams in The American combined for a single-year APR of 993 which bests the other 10 schools in the league. Ten of those 14 teams recorded perfect APR scores for 2013-14, which is also a conference-best.

"I am so very proud of our student-athletes' success in the classroom and of the tremendous academic support staff we have in place led by Justin Miller, the Senior Director of the Nancy and Donald Resnick Academic Support Center for Student-Athletes," said Temple University's Director of Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft. "It has been a banner year for Temple Athletics in the classroom, and this announcement just emphasizes how successful it has been."

In the multi-year APR, Temple scored the second-highest average in the league at 985. Twelve of Temple's athletic teams recorded a multi-year score of 980 or greater, led by the four teams recognized last week for being in the top 10 percent of their sports: men's tennis, women's tennis, men's cross country and women's rowing. All four of those teams scored 1,000 in the multi-year APR to tie for top honors in the NCAA and in the American Athletic Conference.

Also on the list of teams for a multi-year APR of 980 or greater are lacrosse (995), field hockey (994), men's soccer (992), women's cross country (990), men's basketball (985), women's indoor track (983), men's golf (983) and women's soccer (981).

Temple's 10 teams in The American with a perfect APR in 2013-14 are men's basketball, men's cross country, men's golf, men's soccer, men's tennis, women's basketball, women's cross country, women's rowing, women's soccer and women's tennis. Temple's two teams that compete as associate members of the BIG EAST Conference, field hockey and lacrosse, also recorded perfect APR scores in 2013-14.

The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team's academic performance.

I'd like to see the actual majors listed of all the players. Even at the top academic schools most players are pushed into gut courses and easy majors. I heard UK BB players all take online courses their Spring semester...puhleese!

I wouldn't agree that the lists are meaningless, but would agree that many of them are certainly self serving.

I don't think those numbers represent the APR rankings "for the last year." They represent a rolling average of the last 5 years through the 2013 football season.

What I find funny is that Texas would be in the lower half of the AAC and would actually lower our average if in conference. 03-lmfao

In fact the Big 12 has three teams below our lowest member.

124. Texas Christian - 936
124. Texas Tech - 936
126. Oklahoma State - 934

Now that's hilarious. 03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao

but sidenote, no one actually cares.....

Not everyone...as schools that are high in APR and/or Grad Rates use them on the recruiting trail, in ALL sports.

While some recruits (and sadly, even their parents) don't put much time into a school's academic performance in their athletic academic success/failure...as the NCAA commercial says: " "There are over 400,000 NCAA student-athletes, and most of us will go pro in something other than sports."

Its obvious that you do not know most of the 400,000 student-athletes and/or their parent(s).

UCF's overall Athletic Dept had a multi-year average of 981...as that score has gone up for 10 years in a row....as 12 out of their 16 programs finished above the national average.

Academic and more importantly Student Leaderhsip/Internship experience is one of the top goals of UCF's AD...and UCF's new Student Athletic Leadership Center being built along side of UCF's Football Stadium will soon be a showcase to all UCF Student Athletes but more importantly to future recruits in every sport, along with their parent(s).

The above in the OP is the 4 year multi-year APR score and is generally the main list that gets published as penalties/failure are tied into those multiple year averages (i.e. if below 930).

But as the Temple poster noted, scores can also be broken out for a single year, which is what they did.

Not sure it would matter...as programs like your own, Syracuse (hoops), just got busted for academic fraud and placed on probation.

It seems that some major programs (FSU Football, Syracuse Hoops, UNC Football and Basketball) have institutional academic fraud systems so that their athletes don't have to worry about any academic challenges during their stay at those and most likely, other institutions.

http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball...emic-fraud

From link above:

1. Syracuse employees cut out the middleman to cheat

Forget athletes turning in fraudulent work on their own. Syracuse did it for them. Former Syracuse director of basketball operations Stan Kissel literally collected and maintained players' usernames and passwords to email accounts and provided them to employees in athlete support services who help tutor players.

Kissel had been hired by coach Jim Boeheim to correct Syracuse's academic problems. Kissel and support staffers sent emails from players' accounts and corresponded directly with their professors. "Numerous emails included attached academic coursework, which was necessary to maintain the required grades for student-athletes to remain eligible," the NCAA wrote.

Needless to say, the submitted work wasn't done by Syracuse players. As part of the investigation, Syracuse used metadata analysis and found potential issues related to creating, editing and transmitting the assignments. The analysis found that "the 'Author' and 'Last edited by author' field was attributed to someone other than the student-athlete," the NCAA wrote.

Here's another good article on how multiple Syracuse officials used academic fraud to keep Melo on the court.

Most minor/olympic sports (especially women) have much higher average APR scores than Men Football/Basketball.

Here are the average multiple year APR scores of some sports (posted in UCF article as the 12 out of the 16 sports UCF finished at/above national average) in both public and private schools: NOTE: Not all private averages were listed

Sport:...Public...Private Averages
Baseball: 965......969
Football: 952.......956
M Golf: 976.......979
M Hoops: 958
W Hoops: 972.....975
W Soccer: 982...984
W Tennis: 983....985 (UCF had a 1,000)
Indoor W Track: 977...980
Outdoor W Track: 978...981
Volleyball: 981 (UCF had a 1,000)
Softball: 978
W X-Country: 983
