They will cover it up for the schools that are their favorite, probably the entire B1G conference. Thanks to this guy transferring from Michigan State to Notre Dame, we got insider's scoop.

IMO, 'Cuse needs to present a unified front. That's certainly NOT the case now.

Well, I generally think people are stupid and not worth listening to when they say "Shut down the program." But the ongoing issues at Miami and what's happened at UNC are different cases. So this alum/professor is stupid. He does make a point, though, about Melo and his English. If it was that bad, how'd he pass the English competency test to get into school, though?

The nutty professor should check what happened to Colgate University before he speaks.

Colgate was very similar to Syracuse in the first half of the 20th century, both had appearance on Rose Bowl, until the school decided to give up football/basketball and concentrates on academics. Now look at it, very few people have heard of Colgate.

But Colgate still has a football team... They didn't give it up.

Just like Suwanee football. They probably had the greatest team of all time back in 1899.

They were 11-0 in the Southern Conferrence 12-0 on the season and had 11 shutouts. Auburn was the only team to score on them in the season but Sewanee won 11-10.

They had a 7 day road trip where they played 5 teams. They travelled by train to Texas, played Texas, Texas A&M, Tulane, LSU, and Ole Miss.

Greatest achievement every in college football. Sewanee Tigers still play football today.

But both schools de-emphasized football/athletics and lost that public face of the institution/branding. And I think intercollegiate athletics brings a lot to the college experience. Other than the Ivy League, has anyone really been able to keep their "image" out there while de-emphasizing sports?

That kind of stuff happens all across the board on all levels of college. I work for a division 2 school and it isn't any better. We end up teaching what I would consider elementary school level English to many of our athletes. I don't know how many of them even graduated high school.

Syracuse is not the only guilty school. There are a ton. The point is... you messed up... never let it happen again. I'm sure all these hypocrites have had similar stuff done with their program.

I don't doubt what this guys saying for a second.

You are being generous. I think Bud is off about 95% of the time.
