You know the statement "If you don't have anything nice to say..." is around for a reason right? You can't say everything you want to say without consequence if other people find out about it. It has always been that way.

True but I'm weary. Something offends everyone and while we should respect each other's views, wishes and conformities, people shouldn't have to apologize for every little thing they do that may offend a few people here and there. It's so Orwellian that you can't even say offensive things in private without all hell breaking loose (Donald Sterling for example), as if we all don't say non-PC things behind closed doors.

Anyone can say whatever they want whenever they want but not without consequences.

That is the way it has always been.
