Cincinnati Venues Where You Can Provide Own Food / Drink
News on the bearcatmark front. I got engaged last Friday night. Yesterday we booked the Marriott in Clifton for our wedding on Memorial Weekend Sunday of 2016. I liked the idea of getting married near UC (and doing some campus pictures that day).

Anyways, my fiance's family basically makes a big deal out of the whole wedding weekend. Obviously there is the wedding day, they provide a wedding brunch to the guests staying at the hotel that morning after and they invite all the out of town guests (+family and wedding party) for the rehearsal dinner. This means we are likely looking at 100 or so people for the rehearsal dinner.

For the rehearsal dinner we'd like to do something more laid back. Get a venue that can seat that many people (ideally within 5 miles of the hotel, though a little further is fine), but that we can provide the food and drinks (avoiding paying huge catering costs two straight nights). My hope was to provide beer / wine and adrioticos pizza.

Anyways I am putting this out there, because I was wondering if anyone on the board had any ideas / suggestions as to that kind of venue.

Oh and anyone in the UC Athletic Department you should give me the hookup on renting the Nippert Club level that night. Please.

First off, congrats. As for venues, what about Alt or Alms park (depending on time of year)? I assume there might be rental fees or something, but I imagine you'd be able to provide your own food.

We did our rehearsal dinner at Mecklenburg Gardens, which was awesome, albeit a bit tight in their upstairs banquet room.

Is 5/3 an option at all? No idea on their requirements for catering, but maybe reach out to the athletics department office or something and see what they can offer... How about the alumni center too?

I know Northside Tavern occasionally hosts private events. You may also want to check with the Woodward theater in OTR. Congrats!

Moerlein tap room...where the board meetup was. You can rent out the space for the night or for a few hours, and since there isn't a kitchen in the place, you pretty much have to bring your own food. I'm looking in to doing the same thing a few weeks prior to you. Congrats on the engagement!

I saw a wedding party do this at Rhinegeist. Looked like they were having a good time.

You can bring your own food for sure, but would have to buy and drink their (delicious) beer.

I would think they might give you a discount considering how many people you are bringing.
