Not exactly the answer to the question you asked, but here's the SoCon home game averages for 2014 which may give you a better feel for things.....


The SoCon -

Chattanooga (6 games) 60,879 total attendance (10,147 average)

Mercer (7 games) 70,002 total attendance (10,000 average)

Western Carolina (6 games) 57,150 total attendance (9,525 average)

Citadel (6 games) 57,031 total attendance (9,505 average)

Wofford (5 games) 38,820 total attendance (7,764 average)

Furman (6 games) 43,375 total attendance (7,229 average)

Samford (6 games) 32,016 total attendance (5,336 average)

VMI (5 games) 26,314 total attendance (5,263 average)

Of course no one with a working calculator could argue that these numbers pay for these football programs. But, in the subsidized world of FCS college athletics, these numbers show revenue to help offset the subsidy -- something the previous ETSU administration never could grasp or refused to concede.

I'm gonna be honest, I want ETSU to be better than this. My goodness Maryville High averages more than Samford. I know it'll never be 102K people (nor do I want it to be), but anyone supporting ETSU should want it to be at least 30-35k by 2025.

That's got to be the goal along with growing enrollment to 20,000 or more. That would be the excitement of being in higher education, constantly working to build and grow your institution, never satisfied with the status quo, never settling for mediocrity. Otherwise, find something else to do.

Ordered my football season tickets today.

I ordered my football season tickets a few weeks ago as well. Since I'm not local I am willing to sell mine at face for the games I won't be able to attend. Please feel free to PM me if you have any interest.

Approx. 600 tickets left for football.

But the comments section on the JC Press site said that nobody cares about ETSU football....
